My uncle had this #BabyButterhead lettuce in his refrigerator since early March. With an ENJOY BY DATE OF: March 22, 2020. Needless to say but, I will; Today's MAY 4, 2020 and this Baby Butterhead lettuce is pretty as the day it came with a few brown spots. Maybe, I'm paranoid but, I don't trust food that doesn't rot. Feels like a natural expectation...🤷🏾♀️ #GothamGreens and CEO Viraj Puri opened their 100,000 sq ft Greenhouse November 2019 in Chicago's Pullman area, located 720 E 111th St, Chicago, IL 60628. #SouthSide #Blackside #Chicago I stopped in earlier this year at the facility being curious about this grand capitalistic venture and its plans for community partnership. Having historical distrust anywhere White-centricism extends polio blankets for warmth. I was more interested in how Gotham Greens like #MethodSoap would promote Blacks in leadership. White-centricism nooses Black naïveté by hiring prison population Blacks for photo ops boasting equality. But, bottlenecks and chokes in consideration of highly qualified Blacks with vision, direction and intelligence for positions of leadership. And in regime custom, nothing but a sea of White faces that reluctantly greeted me like I needed a loan or a favor. That's what happens when you're taught about people and never truly have to learn yourself. Scary ass... And none of those White faces lived on the South side. I know the game. But, I needed them to see me, discern who they were, express my concerns regarding the predatory nature of Whiteness and how it exploits Black vulnerability in terms of the law. Share about the gardens in the area just to see if humanity would spring into action. Nope! Just a pretty vacant smile much like this Baby Butterhead lettuce. (I'll keep the lettuce as an experiment. Curious when it will wilt😬) Eat at your own risk... #Lettuce https://www.instagram.com/p/B_wpdpGp5Gi/?igshid=s509skvnpdt2
