“This was not your fault. This world seeks to keep you down, to shackle you. But the difference between you and the powers that be is just that: power. And I can give you enough to level the playing field. I only have a simple request…”

The Pink Coats found that their power over Momo Town was being threatened by a seemingly omnipresent force. Many of those unfortunate to be in-debt to them in any shape or form would be consumed by fear if they lived long enough to feel anything.
A despair that would take form and become power to strike back at the thugs running the show. Many reported being on the end of their rope or literally on the edge before a voice spoke to them in their heads, promising that they didn’t have to take what the world was putting them through.
After the power left them, the victims would claim to not remember what happened. However, they would see what their alter ego had done in acting out their greatest desires. This would lead to a lot of destruction, especially as Miraculous Bearers got involved, but the pink coats would often leave well enough alone in not wanting to rock the boat.
The Big Peach was not about to take this lying down. Especially as investigations revealed that a black butterfly would fly in and imbue itself into a material possession of the victim. The Butterfly Miraculous had been found and was seeking to subvert his family’s legacy. Even if some of his goons were chickening out, he wouldn’t stand for this.
Someone had just put a target on their back. But who? Those they shook down remembered feeling comforted by the voice and the paternal vibe it gave off. Like someone looking out for their child. Male? Female? That they couldn’t make out. It just felt… like a relieve.
It was as though they themselves had been one of them, one of the downtrodden. Abandoned by the world. Inevitably a name was
Of course, one other clue that came up was that each champion of the Moth was searching for something. Especially as they avoided engaging with those who could fight back. The Big Peach recognized them seeking in places where he thought that Miraculous was.
Suffice to say, it was one of the rare occasions he broke a nervous sweat.

———
Gotsuki found it a cruel joke that she was still breathing however heavily. Her body laid in an alley way dressed in leftover circus rags with her eyes glazed over, her head lolling to her right listlessly. Hunger, thirst and exhaustion shackled her body to the ground after just a day or two on the run from the boys in blue.
Nobody passing by so much as paid her any mind. If they did, they'd quickly ignore her. The only one paying any mind to her was Mezu, her baby sister, crawling up to her face and making unintelligable noises as if asking what's wrong. Seeing her innocent face made Gotsuki a touch less concerned with her own well-being.
It wasn't just her suffering for her crime of passion. She was dragging an innocent baby down with her, a child with her whole life ahead of her. Either she'd starve in the alley or she'd be swept up to live with a guardian, one potentially as cruel as Mr. J. But... what could she even do about it?
"Was this... the same... for you... mommy?" Gotsuki croaked out of her dry throat. Was her mother too impoverished to take care of her first daughter? For as much as Gotsuki still hated her mother... was she not in a similar situation? On she created for herself?
Why did she let her rage consume her, Gotsuki berated herself for. Why couldn't she've confronted her mother at the bus stop? It would've been ugly but... surely better than this.
But thinking in "what ifs" was all Gotsuki could do. What if mother didn't leave me behind? What if I wasn't stuck in the circus? What if I didn't... didn't... hurt her after she hurt me?
What if... a miracle just dropped out of the sky?
That was her exact delirious thought when something landing in her right palm. It was... a jewel. A violet broach with four petals around it like a flower. It snapped Gotsuki out of it with a rush of adrenaline, getting her to lift and sit herself up straight to see if it was real.
Holding the jewel in her hand, thoughts of pawning it off lasted but a second before it glowed bright. A glow so bright that it flew from the jewel and floated before Gotsuki's nose. Her malnourished state only allowed her to be shocked into stunned silence before the light manifested as a light violet blob floating in the air.
"Greetings, my name is Nooroo, Kwami of Transmission," he spoked cordially to the shocked Gotsuki. "Excuse my intrusion but I could not help but feel such despair in your heart."
"A Kwami?" Gotsuki croaked out. "I've heard of your kind... since I was little." Some of the memories she'd comfort herself with were stories her mother would tell her of fairy-like creatures that would help mortals in need, sharing their powers. "W-Why me?"
Nooroo gave Gotsuki a most empathetic look in the eye, so blank yet so unjudgemental. "I've known your kind of ordeal... robbed of love, of happiness, of any kind of stability by those who... never wanted you to begin with... or wanted you for their own ends."
Gotsuki looked back down at the jewel. What the legends called a Miraculous.
"The Moth Miraculous will allow you to sense the emotions emminating from those all around you and can harvest them to create a Champion loyal to your needs," Nooroo explained, getting her to look back up. "The stronger their feelings and desires, the more powerful they will be."
Gotsuki had considered that this was all a dream. A delusion she made for herself to cope with her horrid reality like she tried with the circus. Perhaps. But looking down at Mezu crawling and giggling on her lap made her remember why she even put herself in this situation. She could've slipped out of the house after wailing on her mother but... her sister's crying... was just like hers.
"Nooroo..." Gotsuki began, reciting the words she heard him say. "Dark Wings Rise..."
Though she didn't see her new form, she certainly felt the power. The enhancements to her natural strength alliviated at least most of her starvation. Setting Mezu aside, Gotsuki could feel it. The emotions of everyone within town, especially those closest to her when she closed her eyes to focus. This wasn't a dream. It was real. It had to be.
A moth suddenly fluttered down to her, one that had been eating at her rags. Holding out her hand, she let it land upon her palm and closed her fingers upon it. There was one emotional vibe that was strongest among the sea of people. Her own. Focusing her power, a violet glow eminated from her hand before she opened it up to reveal the moth.
From white to a dark-violet glow, the Akuma captivated Gotsuki like a desert traveller finding an oasis. "Dark Wing Fall," she declared, the power washing off of her before Nooroo popped out of her Miraculous. "Will I be able to give myself any power I require?" She sunk to her knees from her returning starvation.
"It will be the means to your motivation," Nooroo promised. "You'll retain your memories after you let go of the power so long as you have the Miraculous on you. This way I can guide you myself. That's as much power as I can exercise outside my jewel. But you must be sure of your intentions above all else."
Gotsuki looked down at Mezu crawling back onto her lap and met the baby's smile with a steely frown. "I swore that my sister would never suffer for my sins, that she's never suffer the life I was curse with." She imbued the Akuma in her scarf, turning it black. "I have never been more sure in my entire life."
A dark violet ooze engulfed her body, taking her thoughts and desire to transform it into a tangible force. Into the power she’d been denied for all her life.
———
This would be the start of my Miraculous AU for TOOBOE’s lore. Gotsuki would use her powers to provide for her sister and maybe seek leads on Tikki and Plagg in Momo Town. She’d keep it secret from Mezu as she hopes to
not tempt her sister with her power.
But when her ambition grows, who will be there to de-evilize the Akumas?
There was no other word Jitoki could think of to describe what she’d brought upon herself. It was the only thing she could think of in her numbed state of mind, staring blankly down away from the Officer rattling on.
This wasn’t some random break-in or kidnapping gone wrong.
This was a something she set in motion herself.
“I waited for you!” she remembered Gotsuki’s anguished screams. “I put up with so much pain because I thought you were searching!”
Getting her face nearly smashed in was nothing compared to the piercing cries of a daughter abandoned.
“Why did you leave me?” Gotsuki bawled between strikes. “Why did you let them hurt me? Why didn’t you love me? Why? WHY!?”
Jitoki would loved to sooth the scorned child’s heart by spinning a narrative of Mr. J tricking her into thinking she was led off the fairgrounds. That the circus skipped town before she got to the police.
No.
The truth was that Gotsuki was unplanned, a sudden burden to take care of after the father no-showed. She was tight on money and the stigma of being a single mother was hard to shake off.
So when the gangly clown took Gotsuki by the hand, Jitoki stopped and let her be taken. Like a car running on fumes, she finally seized up. Perhaps the circus would take pity on a poor child.
It would be years before she could cope with her crushing guilt until she found who she believed to be Mr. Right. When Mezu was born, she even promised to do right by her new daughter.
But here she was. Her husband abandoning her after learning the truth of Gotsuki. Her second daughter taken by her first, the one she betrayed. The more it plagued her mind, the more she felt she should’ve seen this coming.
Now… it was her being left behind.
———
This is part of my AU where Jitoki has survived to reap the consequences of her actions.
Her left eye being only visible contrasts with Gotsuki’s murderous right eye as well as the diverging timelines in the music video.
Inspired by this absolutely masterful music video:
Story Time with all the angst and trauma you can ask for:
Gotsuki was rooted to the spot the second she looked up.
Her mother. She was right there. After all these years, Gotsuki found her.
Right there.
With... a man she was smiling with.
And... a baby girl in his arms.
Her eye stared without blinking even once, wide with distraught born quickly from what had been confusion. But she couldn't deny what was right in front of her, waiting for the bus without a care.
All that labor that wore her down.
All those whippings for so much as asking for more than scraps.
All those performances across the trapeze.
And without a safety net at that.
Yet all this time... her mother was doing just fine with not just a man to lean on but a new daughter.
A replacement.
So when the Akuma fluttered on along and imbued itself in her umbrella, it hardly fazed Gotsuki.
If anything, the androgynous purple presence was a welcome guest as it held her left hand.
"Hello," they greeted, a voice that fluctuated between female, male and variants in-between. "Excuse my intrusion but your cry for help was too deafening for me to ignore."
The misty purple figure reappeared in front of Gotsuki, this time very small while holding a balloon.
"You clung so hard to hope," the little one sighed in sympathy. "Hope that she was out there searching for you."
The little one then swung around and grew, the balloon morphing into a whip that they struck Gotsuki with. Not once did she flinch, numbly staring as always.
"But you were never lost..." they spoke with every whipping. "And there she is, doing better without you."
Gotsuki only leaned her head down slightly to see her mother, her lover and... that little spore. All the way down, laughing their cares away, from the heights she knew well in her performances.
"I did it all for her," Gotsuki coldly spoke aloud. "I flung myself into the air just to get her to even see."
The purple form came back to hold her hand like a daughter with her loving mother.
"If she only knew the decade of pain that you suffered," the purple form resumed, "all because of her callousness in carding you off." They turned their gaze towards her slowly. "But then... that's why you called upon me, wasn't it?"
Gotsuki's cold stare ignite steadily into a smouldering glare.
"Make it hurt..." she declared furiously, raising her head up high. "For each and every miserable day..."
"Let the carnage ensue..." the purple form began, holding Gotsuki out in the palm of their hand, "oh, I don't believe I got your name."
"Miss G will suffice," she decided, her mind traveling to the relentless ringmaster.
Chrysalis closed her hand upon her newest champion. Her raw fury boiled over her umbrella and engulfed Gotsuki. Today, the Akuma was privilege to feast on a special kind of despair. The kind fermented across years and years. From a little girl that never truly grew up.

If this little drabble and art intrigued you, then I highly recommend checking out the linked music video. The song is deceptively upbeat and the animated short that goes with it is impeccable visual storytelling. I couldn't help but imagine a Miraculous AU where Gotsuki exacts revenge in a different kind.
Check out the original artist, they do great work here.
This is the prototype to an AU that will involve this music video and TOOBOE's Tablet. If you know, you know.
Inspired by the music by TOOBOE and the characters by Mimicry Meta.
------
This is an alternate universe of "Tablet" where Gotsuki avoided being killed and raised Mezu the best she could. She goes by Kozuki, based on initial translations of her name, due to not wanting her past to catch up with her and hoping to give Mezu a better live that she ever had.
Kozuki would be such a nag and very protective while Mezu, as a teenager, tries to prove herself capable of sticking it to the man. A mystery would unfold involving Kozuki's past would come to light.
------
Lie. Cheat. Steal. Survive.
These were the core values Mezu Oni learned since she was a toddler growing up in Momo Town. Her older sister, Kozuki Oni, had raised her since their mother was killed. She might’ve had a stare that seemed eternally pissed off but Mezu couldn’t have asked for a better mother.
Whatever sense of law and order Momo Town barely had before had been diluted by what many derided as the Pink Coats. The mob ran the city as a haven for the destitute, those the legal system or the world at large had failed. A honey coated trap where many trades one cage for another.
There were always strings attached with the big guys muscling in on the little guys. And nobody was bigger than the Big Peach, boss of the Pink Coats. Most joined them to avoid being against them even accidentally and let them monopolize all of crime.
Mezu was taught everything by Kozuki from reading to writing and especially in navigating a world out to get them. The blue Oni handled the more adult stuff like showing lonely boys a good time while she handled fat wallets from fatter pockets. They even had a traveling street act if only to keep the heat off at times.
Though like most siblings, they certainly could bicker over how to do things. Mezu didn’t appreciate Kozuki insisting on vegetables and fruits when she just wanted nothing but carbs a five finger discount could get. It was hard to feel out her sister’s scruples.
Mezu’s favorite part was learning acrobatics and parkour from Kozuki. Her sister’s sullen face always lit up with a smile whenever she cleared across a building or jumped onto scaffolding without getting winded. Their little races were spiced up over the loser cleaning up their hideaway.
They often cheated with gadgets they’d steal off Pink Coats anyways. Speaking of, they made sure that they’d vet their marks lest they run afoul of a big player in the organization. Stealth was always the name of the game with those goons.
Their reputation for their tag team coordination and swift fighting style spread through the town. Many enemies of the Pink Coats would often call upon them for small job to undermine the big guys. Kozuki would only agree to snatch and grabs where only meager goons were stationed but Mezu was keen to bite off more than what she could chew.
It wasn’t the most ideal or stable lifestyle but it was all Mezu known. Though… when she often asked about their parents, Kozuki would always evade it. At least, not before tensing up considerably. “When you’re older,” she’d say but Mezu knew less and less even at sixteen.
However, at nights, Mezu would lightly sleep and swear she felt a hand on her hand. Along with… sobbing. A repeating “I’m sorry…” for something. But what? Kozuki would deny hearing a thing but… perhaps?
Based on the music videos, Itaino Itaino Tondeike (Pain, Pain, Fly Away):
And Tablet:
-Mezu, black hair with pink accents, as Ladybug and Ete, white hair in pink suit, as Chat Noir, a sex worker/spy for the Pink Coats and a low-level goon who try to bring some hope to the infamous Momo City.
-Gotsuki, Mezu's older step-sister with black hair and blue accent, was given the Moth Miraculous directly from Nooroo who has his own agenda. He sense her explosion of anger upon discovering her mother... and the family she replaced Gotsuki with. These feelings were fertile grounds to pursue the two most powerful Miraculous.
-Years ago, Gotsuki becomes Hawk Moth to takes Mezu after hurting her step father and vows to her mother that her step-sister will have the love she was denied.
-Gotsuki's mother is a go-to Akuma victim, wracked with guilt over abandoning her first daughter and being denied her second. Mezu grows up believing that she walked out when she was a baby, denied any access to her. She acts as Gotsuki's Nathalie if immediately remorseful of her actions.
-Gotsuki's circus days along with her Moth Miraculous allows her to be a thief who can get money for Mezu and information on the Guardian who's somewhere in Momo City.
-The Guardian of the box has the Ladybug, Cat, Rabbit and Peacock fly away to find Holder years later when Mezu is of age. Gotsuki has all other Miraculous and Transmits their powers to her villains in an alternative to Alliance Tech.
-Gotsuki finds Momo City a hot bed for any kind of villain to take form, especially those of the Pink Coats. Mezu is her escape from her madness, being the kind of mother she imagined she once had and dotes on her little sister.
-The Peacock finds its way to the Peacock's boss with him seizing on the opportunity to counter the Moth Holder toying with his boys.
-Gotsuki's mother comes into possession of the Peacock Miraculous and tries to gain the Miraculous for herself to fix her mistakes specifically.
-Ete becomes Chat Noir to feel like the world can be a better place and falls in love with his Ladybug. With Mezu, something buds but he tries to keeps it strictly sex and nothing deeper.
-Mezu upkeeps a normal life for Gotsuki but makes extra money at the brotel under a disguise. She tries to feel out where she thinks the Moth Holder is hiding.
-The reveal occurs when Ete gets sloppy and has his identity leaks to his boss who tasks him with getting the Ladybug Earrings or he'll put a bounty on Mezu. To get him to stop from overtaxing his Cataclysm, she reveals herself to him and they finally kiss. The boss soon finds himself short one Rabbit Miraculous after the two spend their first real date wrecking shop on the organization.
-Duusu's power, after convincing Gotsuki's mother, allows them to hone in on where Hawk Moth really is. Mezu decides to confront Gotsuki about it, keeping her identity a secret while Ete hangs from afar. It goes tits up as one would expect after a little Death Note psychological game between them.
-The final confrontation involves a bid over the Rabbit Miraculous with Gotsuki's past as shown in "Pain, Pain, Fly Away" shown. The ethics of changing a horrible past at the expense of the future are questioned with no firm answer.
-The story would be about 26 episodes long. I doubt I could go for over 100 solid. It would deal with very mature topics with some episodes ending on an uneven keel.
Call it cringe all you want but I've had this brainrot and I hope to share because I care.
Sneaking into a warehouse for "cargo," Kozuki and Mezu Oni smell what seems to be rotten fish despite being nowhere near the docks. Kozuki risked lighting a match to at least assess their surroundings just as a very loud mouth breathing was made apparent behind her and Mezu.
The sisters' dread only grew when Mūnankyun blew their match out.
