being an aro person who does romantic relationships is so hard, like there’s joy in it and i really do like being in them. but the break ups are so much worse, cause there’s all this uncertainty about if it’s cause of my identity. i’m grey-romantic, so finding someone i’m into romantically is hard enough so then ending it is that much harder for me. don’t get me wrong there are aspects of break ups i’m grateful for but i feel like i have a harder time with it than my allo-ro friends. my last relationship ended cause i got used as a rebound and it was the first time in a while i had felt romantic attraction so that makes it harder, there’s also uncertainty of not feeling it again. which i’m fine with it if i never experience romantic attraction again, i just hate not knowing if i will. that’s the worst part, finding queer platonic or romantic relationships is hard for me cause i’m grey-ro. i just wish it could be a little easier, allo people know they’ll feel it again, i just don’t and that’s the bad part. not knowing, idk if any other arospec ppl struggle with the aspect of not knowing if they’ll feel romantic attraction again or not or if that’s just me. i just needed to get it out there and maybe someone else does get it and this will help them feel less alone

“I don’t get it!” Asmo cried and pushed Lance against the wall. The human stared up at him with widened eyes. “Why isn’t it working!?” he growled out as he hunched over, his face right in Lance’s.

“Why isn’t what working?” Lance asked cautiously.

“You don’t like me!”

Lance’s eyebrows furrowed together. “I like you, Asmo.”

Asmo pulled back and pulled on his hair. His teeth clenched tightly together. “No! You don’t think I’m attractive! Do you know how many different things I’ve tried?! I thought maybe you like bad boys and acted all tough! I thought you liked funny guys and made you laugh! You don’t find me sexy and it’s driving me nuts!”

Lance blinked. “I don’t find anyone sexy, though.”

Asmo froze. He looked at Lance with his mouth held agape. “What?”

“I don’t experience sexual attraction,” Lance rephrased his words. “I’m asexual.”

Asmo squealed and threw himself on Lance. “That explains so much! You have no idea how much of a relief that is! I was worried I was losing it, but I should have known!” He rubbed his cheek against Lance’s, but then froze. Asmodeus pulled away, his hands gripping onto the human’s shoulders. “Wait, but you still like me?”

“Yeah?”

“Even though you don’t find me sexy?”

“Yeah?”

“Do you think I’m romantically attractive?”

“No. Gray-aro.”

“And you still like me?” Asmo questioned quietly. His eyes widened. “But why?”

“You’re more than your looks, Asmo,” Lance answered. “I like that you always try to make everyone not just look their best, but feel their best. You try to uplift others. You claim that you love yourself more than everyone else, and maybe you do, but you also have a lot of love for others. I like that about you.”

Asmo gasped as he looked away. He fanned at his eyes with his hands. “You’re going to make me cry and that’s going to make my mascara run!”

Lance laughed lightly. “Sorry.”

“No, don’t be,” Asmodeus murmured. “I always thought that people only liked me for my looks. This…” He laughed as he tried to hold back the tears. “This makes me so happy, Lance.” Asmodeus threw his arms back around the human and hugged him tightly. “Thank you.”
