The Rizztrix
its like looking into a funhouse mirror
I accidentaly made groff smith look like the 10th doctor but shhhhhhh!!!
This very specific clip from The Goes Wrong Show would be Neo describing his and Smith’s final scene together in the café in Resurrections. The one and only difference is that, in this case, the words “Gavroche dies of typhoid” would be replaced with “Smith pisses off to find his own thing to do”.
a very important chart
The Analyst: Smith–
Smith, sighing: Tom used to call me Smith...
The Analyst: ... because it's your damn name.
The brief scene where Tom walks into his boss' office and hears him quoting the line from the first Matrix game that belongs to Agent Smith is so ominous because we know that he's reciting his own words from his past life, and he doesn't even realize that. He's talking about people being oblivious to nature of the world they live in, meanwhile Smith has no idea he's going through the same thing. To him, it's just a phrase. A wise one, but still merely a phrase from a game. Smith doesn't remember he was the one who came up with it. It's just like Bugs said, the Matrix weaponizes every idea. It took Smith's memories and made them a part of a simple video game, as if they meant nothing, just so they could be used against him. So he could remain blind to the truth.
Groff!Smith hate is baseless and I can prove it.
What you guys don't want to see is that his program was rewritten.
The Analyst brought him back from the dead. He wasn't supposed to exist anymore after the Matrix's reload and the virus's termination. In other words, the Analyst built him from scratch. Gave him not only a new face but also a different personality. That's why he's nothing like trilogy!Smith. He's not a human like Neo and Trinity. Their personalities can't be changed by force. Smith's can, as unfortunate as it is. He's a program at the end of the day.
But the Analyst couldn't remove one thing from Smith's core. His connection to Neo.
That's why he remembers everything at the same moment Neo does. And his previous instincts kick in. He tries to kill him again, two times, and fails. And you know what happens then?
He resigns himself.
He accepts the fact that killing Neo won't change anything. He won't get his freedom. He won't miraculously get his purpose back. He won't ever leave the Matrix.
And when the Analyst threatens to kill Neo and Trinity, Smith appears and fucking SHOOTS him straight. All for those two. You know what that means?
He showed mercy.
He forgave Neo at last. He let go of his anger and understood his point of view. And he made the choice to help him. If Neo could, he'd probably ask Smith why he did that for them. And Smith would say the same thing Neo told him 60 years ago. "Because I choose to."
Smith finally learned what it's like to be a human.
How is that "bad character writing"? Admit it, people. You only dislike him because he doesn't have Hugo Weaving's face.
Honestly M4!Merovingian deserves a hug or something. I feel sorry for him. He presumably lost Persephone to the purge, too.
Also love the idea of Smith treating him like he's his weird elderly uncle. Hope they'll interact more in the fifth movie.
