No. I draw the line at Bo Burnham and sad Ilya. I can’t up my antidepressant any further. NO.

5 and 13 for the writer ask 💖
YOU CANNOT MAKE ME BE KIND TO ME. But I appreciate the sentiment, and I really tried. <3 ILU ILUUUUUUUUU
5) character you were most surprised to end up writing
Can I just say Korkie again? I mean, I did not think I’d be down for the secret love-child, two-second character, because I’ve NEVER been that person, but...here we are.
After Korkie, I was really surprised by Garm. Because how. And then after him, I think I was most surprised to write Satine. I was never really into her, and tbqh (sorry @duchess-of-mandalore), I think she’s SO underwritten in TCW as just another female foil to maaaaaaaan pain, and I have so many issues with TCW, and how Obi-Wan is portrayed in it (where’s my ace king!?), but I genuinely found her theoretically interesting, and in the hands of a better writer I think she could be fascinating, stand on her own merits, and STILL be a love interest. And I will accept demi-Obi-Wan in exchange.
But when I started writing her she was just...so sad. She feels to me like someone who has been struck to the heart, and when she speaks, her words are her lifeblood articulated as she bleeds out. Idk. She always feels like she’s just in that place on the edge of a sob, you know? Where you can feel it catch on your ribs, and you try to hold it back but it climbs up your bones, anyway? That’s her.
And, you know, in fairness, I think that’s a fair compliment to Obi-Wan, who, when I write him, often avoids feeling numb and absent by making himself useful.
Oh my god, I just realised I write a LOT of numb, detached, and drifting Obi-Wan.
13) your strengths as an author
First of all, how dare you.
Secondly, I...I genuinely don’t know. I mean. Okay, trying to be objective, 100% honest regardless of how arrogant it makes me look, I think I’m good at...critical reading? So I do think that I’m pretty consistently good at making sure my stories have a destination, or - not a moral, but a philosophical point?
So yeah. That. I think I’m good at putting thought into things.
Someone said I’m good at worldbuilding, but I think I’m good at like, world details...I have no greater understanding of how the universe works or anything, but I can tell you about the poetry styles of Coruscant vs. Naboo, so, I guess there’s that!
update: it was tim so now we’re extra sad
I’m sorry but this
...that’s how you make an enemy for life
