~Studying for the APUSH Test~

I take the APUSH test in 9.5 hours so...let me tell you my study plan and give you tips for if you are taking it in the next study window or sometime in the future!

Review Videos: Currently watching a Heimler’s History livestream (very good). Let somebody help you review what is going on.

Know Your Problem Spots: Pro on Civil War? Know all the Cold War stuff? Don’t worry about it. Have no clue what happened in WWI? Don’t know anything about Andrew Jackson (other than that he was a dick, cuz that’s where I’m at)? Focus on that!

Do Practice Tests: I know that the tests I’ve been taking all year are NOT like the test I’ll be taking tomorrow morning, so the practice tests on AP Classroom have been a huge help.

The Crash Course: College Board has taken enough of my money already, so trust me when I say I didn’t buy this book myself, my teacher provided it. But it has been a huge help and I greatly appreciate it

Know how to Format your Essays: All year, I’ve been approaching these essays like one for AP English...don’t do that. No fluff, no fancy words. It should be cold and analytical. Put as much stuff in there as YOU KNOW.

Get Some Sleep: Never underestimate a good night’s rest. Get your sleep, wake up refreshed, and get in there and kick some ass!

imagine how dull life would be if it was completely safe. no thrill, no risk taking. it either means a) i can't do anything stupid or b) i can but there will be no consequences

would you rather run at 100 mph or fly at 10 mph

run at 100 mph bc i'm slighlty scared of heights

would you rather have seven fingers on each hand or have seven toes on each foot?

seven fingers definitely. i spin pens on both hands! oh, the new possibilities having two extra fingers could bring. also, having 7 toes would just make most shoes uncomfortable so no thanks

It’s the first day of the Spring Quarantine Study Challenge from @spell-studies ! Thanks for writing up all these prompts, Spell :)

Even though it’s not my first day of school, I think I’m going to use this as a chance to start making little updates on my progress. I’ve seen other people do it in a really aesthetic way with pictures of their desks and stuff but,,, well,,, I am chaoshomeschooler for a reason. I don’t have a desk and my study process is really messy. So you just get blocks of text. That being said...

a personal note:

I have not studied at all today. It is 7:51 PM. I have so much scholarship stuff to do and I hate it so much. Plus I have commissions to work on. FML.

On a good note I’m getting prepared for a piano scholarship audition and so far it’s going pretty well. My piano teacher is really great - like not only is she super nice to me and actually cares about me?? but she’s also really freaking smart and making sure I get a well rounded music education. It’s been so nice to learn from someone who knows what they’re doing after a year of the not-so-great teacher I got stuck with after both my amazing teachers passed away.

finish all assignments at least one day before the deadline

not pull any more all-nighters

not leave any readings to be caught up on later

read a little bit of something every day

work on multiple subjects/things per day instead of doing a huge block of one subject all day

I guess these are really different ways to say “don’t procrastinate.”

I’m already failing on a couple of them - last night I sent in an assignment in 15 minutes before the deadline and I have a couple chapters to catch up on.

— hey pals, how is everyone holding up ? I’ve been a little bored but overall doing okay. I officially start home learning tomorrow but I’ve already finished some of the easier things so I have less to do during the week. I wrote all of my assignments in my planner this week and found some mild liner hex codes on @studydev blog and matched a color to my classes on canvas so my canvas, planner, and google calendar will have the same colors!!! I’m also currently writing some notes on our next study in psych bc I’m going to try to take my quiz on it tomorrow. I also want to try to start posting more frequently since I’m going to have a ton of time so If anyone has post requests (?) let me know!!

An oldie but a goodie! I’m cranking out some school work today- graduation requirements and college apps sadly do not complete themselves while I’m not looking. Thankfully I have some fun plans for the next week to help me power through! Furthermore, I’m planning a road trip with some friends for the summer- hiking in Kansas!

Hey there! My name is Evan! I’m not completely new to the studyblr community but I never made a dedicated blog for it. I am extremely motivated and have big goals that I want to focus on so I figured I might as well make a focused blog.

About Me

- I’m 16 years old

- I speak English as my native language and I am learning Spanish and Slovak. I get super nervous about studying language to the point of panic so I really want to work on it!

- I’m homeschooled and do self-study + college classes. Public school is tricky since I move a lot but homeschooling hasn’t set me back!

- I plan to go into nursing or hospital chaplaincy. I love studying anything medical and especially Psych.

- I am also an artist, primarily digital.

- I like reading and writing, I struggle to focus on reading but I try my best.

- I like watching Netflix, B99, Crime and Med. shows, scary stuff and Telltale games!
