OK I missed yesterday in the @spell-studies challenge, but I'm making up for it ehe.
Today's vibe: I don't know if I'm physically ill or just exhausted, but I am barely accomplishing anything today lmao! I need to spend some time outside I think, and re-charge. On the plus side, I located some data I needed for my research project!
Well already a day off because yesterday was crazier than it needed to be but another post for the Spring Study Quarantine Challange !

What are you most excited for this semester?
The fact that I have a class dedicated to a research project is really exciting for me, I’m currently considering grad school and I’m hoping it can help with the decision! Also I’m taking a virology course during a pandemic which is incredibly interesting- slightly maddening, but interesting.
Well... I don’t know about you guys, but I’m still doing university from my childhood bedroom. So to keep myself and you guys accountable I have created another challenge! This challenge is going to be 110 days long! Feel free to do prompts you like, all of them, some of them, or just follow the tag for the adventure! I can’t wait to read what you have all posted!
Alright, now that I have everybody up to date on how this is going to pan out let’s get to the nitty gritty of what exactly we are going to be doing! There is going to be new prompts each weekday and similar reflective posts on Saturday and Sunday!
Tags for this challenge are going to be #SpringQuarantineStudyChallenge #SQSC #heyspell-studies and anything you’d like to add! Feel free to @spell-studies and tag me with #heyspell-studies

It’s the first day of the Spring Quarantine Study Challenge from @spell-studies ! Thanks for writing up all these prompts, Spell :)
Even though it’s not my first day of school, I think I’m going to use this as a chance to start making little updates on my progress. I’ve seen other people do it in a really aesthetic way with pictures of their desks and stuff but,,, well,,, I am chaoshomeschooler for a reason. I don’t have a desk and my study process is really messy. So you just get blocks of text. That being said...
a personal note:
I have not studied at all today. It is 7:51 PM. I have so much scholarship stuff to do and I hate it so much. Plus I have commissions to work on. FML.
On a good note I’m getting prepared for a piano scholarship audition and so far it’s going pretty well. My piano teacher is really great - like not only is she super nice to me and actually cares about me?? but she’s also really freaking smart and making sure I get a well rounded music education. It’s been so nice to learn from someone who knows what they’re doing after a year of the not-so-great teacher I got stuck with after both my amazing teachers passed away.
challenge day 1:
1. Mon. Jan. 25: Welcome back to another challenge! What are your goals?
finish all assignments at least one day before the deadline
not pull any more all-nighters
not leave any readings to be caught up on later
read a little bit of something every day
work on multiple subjects/things per day instead of doing a huge block of one subject all day
I guess these are really different ways to say “don’t procrastinate.”
I’m already failing on a couple of them - last night I sent in an assignment in 15 minutes before the deadline and I have a couple chapters to catch up on.
an apology:
Sorry this was so long and messy. I promise the next one will be at least slightly better.
Time to finally catch up with the @spell-studied challenge prompts! Tumblr ate my post when I tried to do this yesterday, so fingers crossed...
Friday 19th: tag some friends and write them a little note!
@bulletnotestudies I've said this before and I'll say it again I love the Jupiter booty pic as your header, it's so pretty!
@nothingifnotobsessive u were one of my first mutuals and ur a fellow feynmann hater so whenever I see u pop up in my notifications or on my dash I'm just like :)
@starrystvdy I like seeing stuff from your blog because it's so pretty but also it's so nice to see other ppl with ASD doing astrophysics!
Saturday 20th: how did this week go for you?
I would say it went pretty well! I didn't have a lot of stuff due at all so I was able to catch up a bunch of notes I had been meaning to get around to.
Sunday 21st: what's the plan for next week?
Lots more experimenting! Last week I trialed stopping in the middle of something rather than finishing it, and it did wonders for executive functioning! This week I'm making sure I get up at 9am every morning.
Monday 22nd: what's your study style?
I love a plan. I make a big plan with lots of tick boxes and I go through it one by one. I'm also a big stationary fiend, I love having lots of notebooks with different tasks for each one.
Tuesday 23rd: do you study in your pyjamas?
My morning routine includes me waking up, doing some yoga, and then studying, so yes I study in my pyjamas! I shower with my partner because we like chatting in the shower, so my shower/getting dressed times are a bit unpredictable, and tend to be when he has a lull in work in the middle of the day.
Cleaned my gross apartment today and put up some more posters (YES Tommy the cat wears a little jumper. The apartment is COLD.)
Anyway, for the @spell-studies challenge: girl don't even ASK how this week went. I mean, it went OK. I had a meeting with my supervisor on Wednesday that went really well, and my project appears to be moving in the right direction, which I am super excited about. I just have awful executive disfunction at the moment, and I'm not sure how to deal with it because it just feels like if I didn't have it, I would spend literally my entire life working and would go mad. Idk how other people with demanding workloads do it.
Hi loves! @spell-studies made a study challenge that starts today, it looks really cool and I’ve never done one before so I’m going to try it out!
01/25/21
What are your goals?
1. Become a morning person! I’m actually beginning week 3 of a new sleep schedule/morning routine that I’m *hoping* will help me sleep better and be more productive- so far it’s working!
2. Avoid cramming as much as possible. I have a pretty intense schedule this semester so I’m really trying to do a little bit of everything every day instead of cramming right before an exam or deadline. We’ll see if I can keep this up when the first round of exams comes along.
3. Journal every night. It’s a habit I’ve always meant to get into, and I do enjoy it- I just get lazy with it pretty quickly. Here’s to picking it back up!
What are some of your goals this semester? And how are y’all doing so far?
