What a great time this morning for the Hot Dash 5K with D’man. Although no new PR we ran and talked and had a great time hanging out. They had Hot Dish and even better they had a gluten, dairy, nut free version. So good. We didn’t win the meat raffle but who can complain with free beer. Had to hold mine for a friend 😉. Today’s #longrun was done a bit piecemeal because in the middle of it I raced my virtual #hotdash 5K. The actual race last week may have been canceled, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still get out and enjoy a nice run. Even with social distancing, people out enjoying the day and being active. On a side note, last year I finished the #hotdash5k in 24:56. While @twincitiesinmotion #hotdash 5K and 10-mile races were canceled, that didn’t stop me from donning last year’s shirt and getting out to run a 5K, which is what I registered for, plus another 10 miles just for fun. I have struggled to get my 5k time back in the sub-25-minute range since last fall (#cardiacarrestsurvivor), but nailed it today at the #hotdash 5k—organized by @twincitiesinmotion Also lowered my 2019 best mile time down to 7:44. I ran the 2018 10-mile Hot Dash this morning. It was the second of four races in the #UltraSummitChallenge. I finished in 1:57:48. I think that was the fastest that I have run a 10-mile race, but not the fastest running 10 miles if you count the first 10 miles in a half marathon. (I don't run many 10-mile races.) Considering my lack of training recently, I am happy with my time. In fact, I'm hoping for a lot of improvement by October... #HotDash2018 #HotDash #running #marathontraining #charityrunner

I can't believe that it has been five months since I finished all 26.2 miles of the Chicago Marathon. In those five months, I haven't run as much as I probably should have. In fact, it was difficult running just 3.1 miles today. Luckily, I have seven months until my next marathon. However, the 2018 Hot Dash 10 Mile run is only about two weeks away.
