I think it's hard to make something feel epic in scale in fantasy because, a lot of times, it's about a whole new world that the audience doesn't know much of (because we don't want to hear a bunch of useless infodumps that are not going to be relevant to the story and also some fantastical worlds are just not that big) .
But one piece, made the reason for people to read the manga be following the characters' journeys and those characters happen to be travelling all around the sea and because of all that, we got to know so many characters and places throughout the manga without us getting bored and while we got what we wanted from it (humor, interactions, etc).
So when the summit war came up, all the information and characters piled up and got together in this huge war, it actually felt epic.
Just me, chillin’ out before my Spanish lecture by giving myself emotional whiplash by rewatching the Bazzoxan arc interspersed with Narrative Telephone. This is a trip.
@miniangel okay so here’s the deal. i was in target heading for the popcorn, and i came out of an aisle and started to turn left, and this is where i saw it. i have attached a diagram for the visualization.
she was walking out of an aisle and he was walking in the main aisle and they both realized like right before they hit and they exchanged sorrys and whatever and then he kind of stepped back and said “i love your dress” and she started to say thank you and he said “actually you just. you look very pretty today” and she laughed and said well thank you, you’re very nice(at this point i had to sort of slink back into my aisle because they fell into step together and KEPT WALKING together down the main aisle towards me) and he said “well you just look very nice” and she laughed again and said “thank you really. it’s my birthday today”. the last thing i heard before they walked out of earshot was him saying “how old are you today? twenty....three?” and she said 24 and laughed. and i cried.
Sometimes I think about the fact that Ryan Ross walked up to me completely unprompted and asked if he knew me from somewhere and my soul astral projects out of my body
Yes, mnet, I just LOVE watching dancing ants and people’s knees, exactly what I wanted, thanks
Went to the doctor for a yearly check up because I got insurance now. There was this very terribly acted police show called "S.W.A.T" on the TV of the waiting room. The gang was called the "Omegas" LMAO. All I could think was Omegaverse.
