Little Bird and Bogbean: Aboleth-Eye’s Newest Characters!

Thanks to the wonderful @icandrawthings, my brand-new characters have come to life!!!!  I created these characters for a friend’s D&D campaign and one-shots!

Little Bird on the left is an ancient druid who bargained away his human life and his druidic powers to live free as a bird for one hundred years.  It was a time of enlightenment he wants to reclaim--turns out one hundred years came sooner than anticipated.  

  Now mutated from the deep magic he offered himself to, the druid (forsaking his human name for Little Bird instead) now journeys to reclaim his life as a bird.  But his magics have changed along with his body, and he is haunted by the enlightened haze of memories from his time as a bird...

Bogbean on the right is a riot.  Locked away in the damp, dark dungeons of an evil castle for who knows how long, she is ecstatic to see the world beyond.  She smiles too wide for too long and never stands still.  Her left eye seems to glow a menacing blue in the dark.

  She fluctuates from murmuring to herself (implying horrific imprisonment and a dark bargain) to bouncing off the walls, using her iron-colored nails to slash her enemies.  When at rest, she concocts noxious brews with strange herbs and monster parts, and dances manically over a witch’s fire.  

  Despite her eccentric nature and relish for the pleasures of life outside the dungeon, there’s something else not right about Bogbean.  Something inhuman.  Or human no more.

  If she gives you “the eye” you’ll wish you were dead.  If she takes that eyepatch off, run...

I want to thank @icandrawthings once again for kicking ass at bringing my characters to life!!!  They were a delight to work with and were incredibly insightful about the design in my heart!

I’ve had so much fun playing Bogbean.  She literally got an axe to the face by a minotaur in her first session.  She then made the bull-man vomit and then (with a nat20) destroyed it with a single claw.  (I’d tell the story of how she did it, but it’s delightfully gory and I don’t want to trigger anyone).

Do you know who draws all the concept art for Zag?

No, but Nathanaël Bronn draws most of the concept art for ML. I’ve seen at least one other person whose drawn concept art for Zak Storm but I don’t aware of any names atm.

I use Kyle Webster’s gouache brushes for all my drawings! I highly recommend them, you can get them here on his gumroad.
