They would 1000% do some Escape Room Bullshit as foreplay
imagine dating vessel and having a normal day job like you get home from a long day at the hospital or the office and there’s a giant, masked eldritch being in your kitchen asking how you want your steak cooked
Project Hail Mary au where everythings exactly the same except Grace plays guitar.
Maybe he learned so that he could play simple music games with his students. Maybe it was just something he did to keep his hands busy while he thought his way out of a problem. Maybe he just wanted a hobby that didn’t require so much thinking. Either way, Grace plays guitar, a guitar heavily decorated with chemistry stickers and tiny things his kids have given him over the years. Maybe he’s named it, maybe not.
But maybe Stratt knows this. Maybe he played something for her, or for the crew, in one of their late night parties. Maybe Carl caught him at it, and he told her. And maybe, just maybe, as one last clue to who he is, what he enjoys, she sends that guitar up with him. And now Grace, freshly awake and wondering what the hell happened, find this guitar, and realizes his fingers still know the thing, that this is his guitar, filled with tiny personal touches and marks made by so many of his students and friends.
And like. Guys mostly I’m just indulging myself now but like. What if Grace tried the guitar to communicate. Heard Rocky’s sing song and went ‘oh! I can do that too!’ Maybe Rocky fashions a little pair of drumsticks, or just taps the beat with his leg. Maybe they make music together. God you guys what if they made music together.
Meanwhile in another universe
Announcer: It appears we have a last minute substitution! Poseidon will not be fighting Sasaki Kojiro. Poseidon: Hmmm... it matters not what mortal they have fight me, I will kill them... Announcer: Instead! It will be King Odysseus of Ithaca! Poseidon: ... I need to leave
Idk if yall have seen the snaps trend, but it’s basically a game where you use the beginning of a sentence and snaps to spell out words for the other person to figure it out, (idk look it up) and I imagine the Batfam playing it and absolutely tweaking
Batman:doesn’t give a flying fuck, to busy trying to stop the world from ending or his kids killing themselves(which ever comes first)
Dick: gets the premise but absolutely lose track of everything going on
Jason: doesn’t get it and is furious about not getting it
Tim: solid 50/50 on whether or not he absolutely dominates or doesn’t even understand the words being spoken
Damian: made cass explain it to him but pretended he knew all along (cass would do anything for her baby brother)
Duke: was the first person to see the videos and sent them to Steph(he desperately wanted to see everyone’s reaction and my boy is a mastermind)
Babs: understands the game, plays well, keeps trying to explain it to dick and ripping her hair out when she fails
Steph: the one who gave the idea of the game to the fam and is laughing her ass of in the corner
Cass: understands immediately and doesn’t understand why people wouldn’t
Alfred: my goat doesn’t give a flying fuck and uses the game as a distraction to check that all of them are taking care of themselves
Imagine if Erik had survived and Spike returned back to Holy Island with not just a baby but a random Swedish soldier in tow.
The general community really don't like him; he's not one of them, he's from the outside and he doesn't take anything seriously enough.
Jamie HATES him because suddenly there's another male influence in his son's life who's opening his eyes to what the world's like outside and helping him think for himself - making it even harder for father to redeem himself.
The other kids aren't sure what to make of him; he's unlike anyone they've ever met before - but he's funny and he's got lots of interesting stories to share.
The only adult who tolerates him is Sam, mainly because Spike likes him and he can see the man's actually a good influence, allowing Spike to embrace his silly side and lighten up a little more- these kids have enough hardness to deal with, it's nice to see them being kids every now and again!
I wanna be squished between Nefika and Anufi so badly
