Something I was thinking about that makes oMarkHelly interactions near the top for me in S3 is that the same 3/4 combinations of MarkHelly interacted in BOTH seasons. Because even in Season 1, Helena and Mark Scout have the brief parking lot interaction. Innie Mark unknowingly speaks to Helena after he saves her life in the elevator, which Milchick confirms. Before this, Innie Mark had even seen her in the video to Helly. But oMark is a complete mystery to Helly outside of secondhand impressions she has of him from Mark S. And even among people I consider pretty intuitive about predicting MarkHelly interactions, there are wildly different ideas on how they would feel about each other, so I think that makes them the most interesting aspect of the future narrative.

Helena making faces in the hallway convo is one of the funniest things but also paused randomly when Mark was mutually derping, and it's sending me. Both of them serve dork so well.

1 year later of thinking about severance and this week's deep thought was wondering what type of cleanup Helly did after Attila. Did she leave everything in her underwear as a middle finger to Helena? Did she wipe up what she could but didn't really care? Was her hair still in poof mode when she left for the day? Was Helena relieved that Mark still liked Helly after learning she's an Eagan, or was it pure jealousy and frustration when she realized? Did Helena smell Mark S. on her and miss him? I realize this is all pointless but we KNOW there's a post-work day reaction of Helena in Erickson's brain somewhere.

Mark Scout learns, while still in the flirting stage with Helena, that Helena had sex with iMark, and the only thing he can ask is "Was it good?" To which she responds with a genuine "Yeah, it was." He tries, in vain, to hide his pride.

Are you thinking post cold harbor or before? mark s waking up on the outside of the severed floor drunk and wanting to go to someone he's familiar with would be a solid idea, even with all of his big and complicated feelings for helena i think he would still feel safe around her in a way and it might just be toooo easy for him to fall into their rhythm like he does with helly. Especially the trippiness of how he might view them as somewhat the same? Or their similarities and the crossover? The idea of him missing helena?

Or even her waking up on the severed floor with mark s?

But I also know you wrote helly coming to mark's house and the racecar bed.

oh this is interesting... iMark finding Helena reminds me of this Nell fic which is so melancholy -- iMark needing a hug from Helena at the end! 😭 And fractions had an amazing drunk iMark/Helena chapter in Cog in the Machine a couple updates ago.

I'm picturing her not being able to turn him away even though Jame is home and needing to hide him somewhere in the big crazy estate. Or him just wandering it alone looking for her, realizing what Helena's life is like...

Helena waking up somehow during the innie revolution is also an interesting one. Maybe they Glasgow her again trying to get her to negotiate, but easier said than done...
