Everyone keeps saying "four years" as if we are not living in a christo fascist oligarchic dictatorship now. I envy your optimism and naivety.

It's been three days since I originally posted this and I'm here to say

Edit: Hey guys. I wanted to come back and add to this post because it's currently sitting at about 20k notes, my notifications are blowing up and I'm seeing so many people completely miss the point and I wish to elaborate on this. This post isn't about the likelihood of a third Trump term. This isn't to scare anyone. Yes, I'm aware of what it takes to ratify an amendment. Yes, I'm aware of the low likelihood. Again, not the point. The point was the fact that this was even brought to the table in the first place. As unlikely as it is, ITS THE FACT THAT HE EVEN HAD THE BALLS TO CONSIDER IT. He's doing everything he can to disrupt checks and balances and it's very clear that he wants ultimate power and he will stop at nothing to seize it. He doesn't want to be president, he wants to be king. So, just please realize that this isn't just about whether or not there will be a third term. Please think deeper. This is beyond that. This is about our road to a dictatorship. And this was simply just one sign on the journey.

This will just reinforce the culture of mutilation and non-consensual hormone treatments on intersex people. I wouldn’t be surprised if this new administration tries to come for the few intersex resources available to us.

There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this. Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And then remember this. The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire's authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.

Trump being sworn in for the second time on the day honoring Martin Luther King Jr of all days is fucking insane. Like we're really swearing in the virulently racist rapist who is going to erode civil rights on the day honoring a legendary civil rights activist who dedicated his entire life to justice.

If this happened in a movie people would be rolling their eyes because it's so on-the-nose. But nah we really do just live in an absolute joke of a timeline.
