So this is a mini rant of mine...

I'm trying to find and read Alexei Shostakov x reader / Red Guardian x reader fics and every time I use the tag I have to sift through DOZENS and DOZENS and DOZENS of fics that don't even have Alexei in them or he's sooo minor of a character (like is barely mentioned or says one line of dialogue). It's very annoying because I'm just trying to read some fics about my man and instead I'm treated to fic after fic about Bob and Bucky. (I love them both don't get me wrong) It's just ridiculous how so many fics don't even involve Alexei yet they're tagged as him. Yes I know he's a thunderbolt but COME ON. It's ridiculous. I feel the same way about Ava/Ghost tags.

Overtagging Isn't Just Annoying, it's Selfish 😩💔

tagging characters/ships who aren't in a fanfiction or other artwork and who won't be in the next chapters is a no-go! 🙅‍♀️🙅🙅‍♂️ (exception: general posts that could be about these things)

Bots are bad but they made me forget for a moment that what I hate the most is when humans try to gain advantage over others by immoral ways. 😪

Creators who actually post about the incorrectly tagged things have to share space. Overtaggers have an advantage over them. 😐

When you tag the wrong thing, people are disappointed they don't find it, maybe they even waste time reading to find out.

Why would you want to blindside readers with the incorrect tagging? If I go into a fic expecting relationship A/B and you instead end with A/B/C - I'm not reading your fics anymore.

I'm upset that OUR tags: Israel, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Jewish, Judaism etc were conquered & filled to the brim with antisemites.

same, some are excusing it as a way to avoid "censorship", but tags like Rafah, Gaza, Palestine, Genocide, Middle East, etc have been trending multiple times this month alone.

Please stop mistagging your work for more views or clicks or whatever, it's annoying and a nuisance, and it just clutters a tag making it harder for people to find what they're looking for. People are not going to appreciate or even read your work because they're not the target audience.

I can't read an x reader without half of the tag being full of x oc. Or the male reader tags just being fem reader. I hate skimming fanfics, but that's the only way I can tell if the tags are misleading because I cannot trust that anyone has tagged anything correctly.
