......yoooou are a precious Irish cookie? Just like Michelle aka Catelyn. So duh you make a good Catelyn.
what is ONE THING you like about the way i play my character?
I have literally started coining that phrase of yours to describe me on my work profiles. It’s now becoming a THING, like legitimately. So thanks, hehe.

I swear to god. And people are actually watching that shit and are like oooh Gregory is a genius. What a piece of art. ??????? I’m not even that familiar with the content and even I know it’s shite!!!
The whole article is just....WHY ARE THERE SO MANY MORONS IN THE WORLD WHO DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT FEMINISM IS WHO CAN’T GRASP WHAT COUNTS AS RAPE?????
I am getting very very tired of all this.
And that’s even without the issue of making Margaret Beaufort order the rape, when the woman was raped herself and throughout her life was very philanthropic, protective of women, and especially anti-rape. There must be a lot of creaking noises going on in Westminster from ALL THE DEAD PEOPLE TURNING IN THEIR GRAVES
indigoraysoflight replied to your post: indigoraysoflight replied to your post: honorless....
YEAH he’d be like “haha you’re cute. What kind of braid do you want my lady?? I KNOWW ALL OF THEM” And yes Catelyn waking up to tiny braids on her hair is something I am very tempted to make a comic about.
omg if you do a comic on it lemme see it i wanna see it that’d be adorable
indigoraysoflight replied to your post “indigoraysoflight replied to your photoset he leaves her AGAIN....”
OMFG. Yeah you can tell, because you can see in her eyes the sadness as well. I mean no wonder when your husband is off trekking and you're left alone and can possibly die because of your illness. And the chemistry is soo off. SHE HAS TO STEAL MEDICATION. WHAT KIND OF A HUSBAND IS HE?!
I never find Quaid to have much chemistry. I love the film Frequency, but it’s the same stuff with his wife. Picking up, dancing, but there’s just no....frisson. You can’t believe in it.
Yes, steals medication, while her husband is off somewhere and it’s Vladek who comes to he rescue.
indigoraysoflight replied to your post: I checked out the newer ASOIAF kink meme to see if...
Oh thanks for letting me know. I heard about the new kinkmeme and was debating whether to check it out or not. Nope you saved me a lot of time. Coz I would sulk SO MUCH. If I found another bloody cat hate piece. Also I agree with the first person who commented here. I am so out of touch with this fandom because there is cat hate and ooc characters in so many places
There are definitely some great prompts there too, just not for characters/things that I’m really interested in writing. But a lot of the prompts that involve Cat definitely have a snarky isn’t-she-awful undertone, or it involves something terrible happening to her (not here for that) or her doing something terrible to Jon (also not here for that). And then so much Ned/Ashara. Which ugh, the way Cat haters hold up Ashara Dayne as some perfect woman that Ned ‘deserves’ is just barf worthy.
Happy Birthday, @indigoraysoflight!!! I hope you have awesome and fantastic day, and I wish you the best year, full of happy things!!!
Just as you wished, Catelyn loving football and Ned being very confused about it :) Also third year in the row with Spanish Martells, I think... really the last two times I was in Spain, but now it’s just tradition (and Spain fits with the theme of football :) )
ENJOY!!
Ned felt the bed move, he opened his eyes just a bit to see it was nine o’clock on a Sunday and that Catelyn was getting up. Ned lifted his hand to pull her back down.
“I need to go, Ned,” she told him, touching his face.
“Where?”
“The pub.”
“Why are you going to the pub at 9 am?” he asked, lifting himself off the bed. It wasn’t like her to go drinking this early, or really anytime.
“The pub is the only place that shows the World Cup matches around here. It’s English, but I’ll live with it,” she said, rolling her eyes. It was never good to watch her team play near the English.
“This early?”
“Time difference, Ned,” she answered. “I’m going with Elia. It’s actually France against Spain, so it’s a big game for us.”
“I want to go,” he said, getting up, letting go of her arm.
“Ned, you know nothing about football,” she said, now standing up. “Don’t you dare call it soccer,” she threatened.
“I want to learn.“
“Okay, get up. They’re going to kill me for bringing an American to this.“
“You’re in America. You like living here.”
“It’s the World Cup - this is serious business, Ned,” she said.
He really didn’t believe her at first and got ready like for any other event. Catelyn didn’t, jeans and her hair up were normal, but she had on a football t-shirt with the blue of France and a rooster on it, and then she had her blue, white and red flag over her shoulders.
“I told you this was big business,” she told him, “And at least I’ve not painted my face.”
“You guys paint your faces?”
“I have seen you getting ready with Robert to go to your football games. Why are you surprised?“ Ned didn’t really have an answer for that, so he just finished getting ready to go and walked with her to the pub.
“So what I should know about the game?”
“Still in the group phase. Last game. Spain has already gone through. Greece is probably out, they haven’t won any games, but there’s still Egypt. So France really needs to win this game, and Egypt needs to lose or tie - we’re tied right now.”
“Okay, so this is a big deal.”
“Yes, very big, Ned. Now walk faster I want to get there before the game starts and find a good seat.”
When they get to the pub, Ned is surprised by how full it is - people from every age and background, all ready for the matches. Catelyn was booed when she came in, and she swore back to them in French - she rarely swore but when she did it was always in her mother language.
“Catelyn,” Elia called from a booth on the other side of the pub. She had a Spain scarf on and was hearing a simple red and yellow shirt, while her brother really had his face painted.
“Oberyn decided to come too,” Elia told her.
“We’re gonna destroy you, Catelyn,” he threatened.
“Tie,” Elia said, “I still want France in the cup,” she said smilling. “Sorry he’s here, he’s going to be so annoying.”
“You know Ellaria doesn’t find me annoying,” he complained, knocking his sister’s shoulder. “Colombia is playing tomorrow, so she went to her parents’ house to watch - they are doing a big thing.”
“Colombia is on the fence like France,” Catelyn told Ned.
“Ohh... he’s an American,” Oberyn commented, before saying something in Spanish to Elia, which earned him a slap on the shoulder from his sister.
It was still five minutes before the game started, and they ordered their food, with the waiter promissing Catelyn a full English breakfast and a few more friendly teasing based on an animosity that goes centuries back.
“Prepare yourself,” she said, “if today goes well we will be playing each other next game.”
“Haha, you’re not coming here then. We would have to really kick you out.”
The game started before breakfast was brought in, and it started well. France got possession of the ball immediately, but it was a close game. The ball went back and forth, and 45 minutes in and nobody had scored.
Ned kept asking her questions most of the time, whispering them in her ear. He was definitely annoyed to the players always falling down and he really didn’t understand how the patrons kept yelling fault at a bunch of things.
Ned didn’t get those things, but the basics of the game were easy, and it was really exciting when they were really close to the goal - it was fun for any team, but he kept his celebrating only to France. And he had fun listening to Catelyn yell in French at the screen, with the Martells sometimes yelled in Spanish.
“I don’t believe we’re still tied,” Catelyn complained, “I’m going to walk outside.” Ned followed her, but she was walking fast while ranting in French; he just let her vent, before they walked back into the pub.
“Ready for the second part?” Elia asked.
“Hell yeah, come on, France,” she yelled, before repeating it in French, and taking Ned’s hand, hoping that they would win, and Egypt would still be tied by the end of the next 45 minutes.
Thanks for asking :) And I apologize for the lenght of my answers…
20. favorite character to write
Ashara Dayne and Robert Baratheon, no doubt :)
Ashara has this amazing thing of you knowing almost nothing about her, so you get almost free liberty to write anything with her, she just needs to be beautiful (and even that is subjective opinion). So it’s always so much fun to explore who she is, how she feels, what are the meaningful relationships to her, and she’s a fun person (at least I write her like that)
Robert Baratheon is a similar question, we know him, but we don’t know him as well as the man Ned Stark loved and considered a brother. So I always find interesting exploring his potential, trying to balance the man he is, who he was and who he could have been. And also he’s just overall one of my favorites and I LOVE him with my whole heart!!
26. story you’re most proud of
I’m not sure, I’m always more proud of moments and themes than full stories, so first on that, every moment I have written Jeyne and Willow as Gendry’s friends and family (and Lommy and Hot Pie, of course), I want to build a world/reality where they stop being almost always written as the “bitches” or Gendry’s crazy ex-girlfriends or women Arya has to fight, I want them to be able to be real people - I don’t know if it has had any impact in anyone, but I would be proud if it had. And then probably any Myrcella and Cersei I have written, those are always deeply emotional to write, I always cry writing and rereading them, and it’s something that truly feels special to me and it’s just a relationship I love exploring
But actual stories, I’m almost always proud of what I write for @xv12‘s birthday and I don’t know if it’s because I know I’m writing for a friend, but I feel like I have some of my best ideas. Like this year’s We’re In This Together and 2015′s Shenanigans in Space Always Have Consequences - these are both scifi pieces (and I realized I love writing those) where I got to do world building and I enjoyed creating that so much, even things that don’t make it to paper, but are in my head and help build my vision.
And then again for her birthday, 2016′s Loving Through Time, which is a fusion fic with Outlander (I just learned yesterday that what I do is called fusion fic and not crossover fic :) ), that turned out to be my biggest oneshot ever, and it just grew and grew and it just let me play with so many things - AU canon and modern AU at the same time, and doing this historical jokes, that I knew she would get, because it’s her - like the calendar and religion, and Ned worrying about vacines, or Catelyn not being able to understand women in the present. I was also writing my favorite ship, but it was also the first time I wrote Ashara and Elia. It’s a special fic
These are the three that call out to me, but I also feel proud when I write my fics for my smalled ships, especially Myrcella/Aegon and Robert/Lyanna (or recently Diyoza/Callie for The 100 fandom), because it’s a very small public, especially that first one or the last one, so everytime someone reads it and comments, it’s special - it’s so often messages like you sold me on this ship, which means that my writing and my vision was able to do that, and that’s a very nice feeling :)
30. hardest part of writing
Right now, I just want to say Brynden’s personal life, outside of his nieces
But seriously, keeping a schedule is hard, updating with regularity, it’s going to be one year soon since I last updated my multi-chapter, and it makes me sad, because I haven’t quit, I just can’t work this pov, and I don’t want to change it
Descriptions are also hard, and I think this is something that appeals to me about fanfiction is that everyone reading already knows what the person looks like, so I don’t have to spend time on that. I know that when writing original stuff, people ask for more description.
And then there are just characters that are hard to get a voice on, normally these are characters that are main in canon, but it’s not someone you spend your free time thinking about or read much about, this happens to me with the adult Lannisters or Brienne…
Also smut or kissing scenes, because they are very much visual scenes and they play like that in my head, I can see their hands moving and where they are, but then I don’t want the writing to be he moved his hand there and then there. So trying to create the visual you have in your mind, without over doing it (which is again to the point that I really don’t like descriptions…)
49. writing advice
Write what you want, what makes you happy and even write what you want to read
And I know it sometimes sucks to write for minor ships you love, because you spend a lot of time on it, and there’s no feedback and you feel like nobody reads it for days… But then there’s that comment, I mentioned above, that tells you that you sold them on the ship, and really that feeling of happiness will last you for days!! Then some day you asks from prompts and they prompt you them, because they know they make you happy and they start liking it too (really, it feels pretty special everytime someone prompts me Myrcella and Aegon)
Also if you write it, you can then reread it, and with small ships where you’ve read everything, sometimes reading your own stuff is the solution
Also ignore the hate if you ever get any. It’s okay to cry, and it will probably hurt like shit (it still does when I think back to that one stupid comment), but don’t ever let it stop you, keep writing and keep believing on yourself :)
It’s done!! I’ll answer the other one now :) This was so much fun!!!
