InLoveAThon Wrap-Up

Hello there! Well, this readathon didn’t go as well as I had hoped, but for my standards of books per week it was amazing! I managed to read 3 of the 5 books on the TBR, which is an achievement. #InLoveAThon Update! I just finished my fifth story for this 'thon (I think). 😄 . . . . I really enjoyed this book, too. The Cruel Prince by @blackholly was very good. But that ending! Why did you have to end it there, Holly? WHY?! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ . . . . For today's #jayjaysconstantfaerytalesvalentine task, "Honour Among Thieves - #FavouriteThieves," I present to you this book. It has my favorite thief for right now in it. 1st book for #Contemporaryathon and 4th story for #InLoveAThon = FINISHED! 😄 . . . . I'll give Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde four stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ . It was very good, and I enjoyed seeing myself - kind of - in those characters that had anxiety. Some of the things that were said were VERY relatable. ❤ My anxiety is similar, but much more disabling (although that could just be because my anxiety is paired with a major depression that manifests primarily as apathy). 😕 . . . . Challenges Completed: For #InLoveAThon: 7. Read a book with pink or red in the cover because the cover is VERY pink! 8. Read a LGBTQ+ love story: Charlie, one of the protagonists, is bisexual 😊 For #Contemporaryathon: 2. Contemporary book with pink on the cover: the cover is VERY pink! 4. Read a diverse contemporary: this book deals with both characters who are LGBTQIA+ and with mental illness . And lastly, Queens of Geek works for today's #jayjaysconstantfaerytalesvalentine task, "Amethyst - #BalancedPartners," because Taylor (an anxious introvert) and Jamie (a steady extrovert) balance each other very well as romantic partners and the friendship between Taylor (anxious introvert), Jamie (steady extrovert), and Charlie (somewhat anxious introvert-extrovert) is very well balanced, too. 😊 . . . . #DogsofInstagram #bookstagram #books #QueensOfGeek #JenWilde @jenmariewilde

#InLoveAThon Day Two Update! 🎉❤ . . . . I finished Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski! Because it took me so long to read this book, I'm not sure I'll be able to start and finish The Cruel Prince by Holly Black for the third task: "3. Read a book with a prince/princess." 😕 . . . . So I guess it's a very good thing that Princess Ciri was introduced in this book! Another task complete! YAY! 😄🎉❤ . . . . I am still hoping to read Ravished by Amanda Quick (for the first and second tasks), but that should be easily doable tomorrow. After all, this is one of my most favorite books. 😉❤ . . . . #InLoveAThon Day One Update! One/first challenge completed! 😄❤ . . . . So yesterday was not the greatest of reading days for me, but I did complete one of the challenges for the InLoveAThon! Task 4 - Read an original fairytale and watch the Disney movie or a film adaptation is DONE! 😄❤ . . . . First, I read Rapunzel (from #GrimmsFairyTales by the #BrothersGrimm) while enjoying popcorn, chocolate, and wine! 🍿🍫🍷 . . . . Then I had dinner after finishing Rapunzel and before watching Tangled. (Leftover Chinese food from a local restaurant! 🍚🍲🍽 With wine! 🍷) . And then I watched Tangled and finished my wine! Perhaps it was the 🍷, but the movie really made me cry. (I loved it! See picture four to see me ugly-crying, but my Max was trying to comfort me! 😍❤) . . . . One final note: I had been hearing for YEARS how the Brothers Grimm stories were so dark. . .
