AFAB is not a noun. AMAB is not a noun. It is an acronym for an *event* - that event being what was written on your birth certificate. AFAB = assigned female at birth. AMAB = assigned male at birth.

Think about how the acronyms would sound if fully written out.

Intersex people AMAB may have a vulva or atypical genitalia, a mullerian duct (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes) or ambiguous or no reproductive organs, an estrogenized puberty (breasts, widened hips, higher voice, less body/facial hair, etc) or a androestrogenized or absent puberty, etc.

Intersex people AFAB may have a penis or atypical genitalia, a wolffian duct (prostate, seminal vesicles, vas deferens, testicles) or ambiguous or no reproductive organs, an androgenized puberty (increased muscle mass, deepened voice, more body/facial hair, etc) or androestrogenized or absent puberty.

Even perisex people AFAB or perisex people AMAB may have an alternative puberty or no puberty due to HRT or gonad damage.

Instead of using AFAB/AMAB, say what you mean. Name specific body parts. Name specific puberties. Name specific capabilities.

Use actual words for anatomy. Say mullerian duct (or the individual parts, such as cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, etc), wolffian duct (or the individual parts, such as testicles, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate,) ambiguous reproductive duct (or individual parts also seen in mullerian ducts and wolffian ducts), ovotestes, vulva (or individual parts, such as labia minora, labia majora, clitoris, vagina, urethra,) penis (or individual parts, such as scrotum, phallus, urethra), urogenital sinus, cloaca, ambiguous genitalia (or individual parts, such as clitorophallus, labioscrotum, or previously listed traits also seen in vulvas and penises), breasts, increased muscle mass, thickened vocal cords, etc.

If you're talking about puberty, name the specific puberty (estrogenized, androgenized, androestrogenized). Or say what body part you're referring to (ie; "people with breasts.")

If you're talking about menstruation and reproduction, name the abilities. People who menstruate, people capable of pregnancy, people capable of impregnating others, people capable of ovulation, people capable of sperm production, etc.

If you're talking about how society views someone, say socially imposed as female, socially imposed as male, consistent socially imposed gender, and inconsistent socially imposed gender. (More on that here [link.])

I really hate the idea that trans men automatically pass easier than other trans people and that you don't have to work as hard as a trans man to pass. And to see other trans people and allies alike perpetuating this stereotype is ridiculous.

The idea of "passing" as a whole is transphobic, exorsexist, and varsexist honestly. But nobody is ready to let go of it.

Like no, actually, the fact that we assign pronouns and genders to certain appearances and behaviors isn't a good thing, actually.

The idea of "passing" others non-binary people, binary trans people at the start of their transitions or who cannot afford a transition, binary trans people who do not want a medical transition or whose transition is not "traditional", gender non-conforming and sex non-conforming people, intersex people with variations that give them a mix of sex traits, and intersex & disabled people whose variations/disabilities make them incapable of transition.

No? Firstly, I was saying that I am against the way that lot of transmeds use "passing" as a "are you really [insert gender here]" measure.

Secondly, I am aware that "passing" helps with safety and alleviates distress/disconnect and provides euphoria to a lot of TGD people. My point is that we should be destroying the *need* to "pass" in the first place.

If everyone in their everyday life stopped assuming the genders and pronouns of strangers, that would be a massive deal. Nobody would feel upset that their gender isn't immediately assumed correctly, because nobody's gender [PT: nobody's gender] would be assumed *at all*, the same way you don't assume someone's name.

I am encouraging people to stop applying gender and pronouns to appearance, and just start treating everyone individually.

I'm not calling the people who try their best to "pass" so that they can be gendered correctly and be safe bigoted. I'm calling the societal structure that has made that into a necessary thing bigoted.

It's not just bad towards trans men with breasts, but also towards other androqueers with breasts (ie; some intersex men, some transmasc enben, some butches, etc), and some non-masc enben who bind.

Also, the idea that androgenic puberty is "more damaging" and "can't be reversed" is incredibly harmful not only to androqueers & other enben expected to estrogenize upon puberty, but also towards young gynequeers & other enben expected to androgenize upon puberty.

They're basically calling people who take androgenizing HRT *and* people who natally androgenize (ie; transfems who are SETA) "lost causes." It frames a really hopeless situation for them.

All of the effects of androgens can be reversed, first of all. Deepened voice? Voice training or a pitch-changing larygnoplasty exist. Muscle mass changes? Estrogen usage will re-distribute it. Phallus changes? Bottom surgery exists. Hair growth? There's a lot of things you can do to halt or decrease that. Reproductive functions? There's no guarantee it would cause full infertility anyways, stopping HRT often leads to fertility increasing again, but also, people can have fertility issues even without using HRT so like...this isn't a TGD or varsex exclusive complication???

And these same arguments could be made the other way, too. Why are estrogenized characteristics "less permanent" than androgenized ones? Estrogen also changes hair growth, voice pitch (for an initial puberty, if androgenization has already happened estrogen doesnt change the voice pitch), muscle mass, phallus size, fertility, plus it causes breast development.

I will note, though, for your final part, androgenization doesn't necessarily stop menstruation. It can decrease it and *sometimes* stop it for some people, but plenty of androgenized people menstruate.

This is such a clusterfuck of bioessentialism and bigotry.

Ignoring the misuse of AGAB language [link], they clearly mean "my hot take is that the world would be better if everyone were perisex expected to estrogenize." Which is so bad.

It's intersexist, because it explicitely wishes that all sexes aside from those who are SPETE (someone perisex expected to estrogenize) could disappear.

It's anti-masculine sexism, because it wishes cismascs who are SPETA or intersex will just disappear, and implies they're "worse men", indicating that this person believes in the psuedoscience of "brain sex".

It's transandrophobic because it fetishizes trans men who are SPETE and others them from non-trans manhood. It's also androqueerphobic because it just completely disregards the discomfort many androqueers (transmascs, intersex mascs, etc) feel with estrogenized traits, and the hardships of physical transitioning.

For image one - Man, woman, and non-binary do not describe (and have never described) sex traits. They describe a psychosocial experience, not necessarily a sexual one (though many people feel their gender connects to their sex in some way, shape, or form.)

Looking into cultural genders around the world, and the history of transness and genderqueerness, you can very blatantly see that womanhood, manhood, and enbyhood have never been dictated by sex alone. This framework is extraordinarily eurocentric.

For image two - Its very funny that they missed quite a few traits for SPETE (someone perisex expected to estrogenize) and SPETA (someone perisex expected to androgenize), and also hypergeneralized to the point of completely contradicting themself. (For example, they missed the sex chromosomes, but I have the feeling they intentionally left that out because they view intersexuality as just a "deformed male/female".)

They say "there are only two sexes", proceed to explain these supposed "two sexes", but then bring up nullsex and duomorphic people. I know they probably meant "there are only two NATAL sexes", but still, even that makes no sense with their acknowledgement of nullsex and duomorphic individuals - if intersexuality is a deformity, then how come being nullsex and duomorphic is perfectly natural in their eyes when paired with being non-binary?

Also, people like this make me laugh when they speak about intersexuality, because...what do they classify intersex people who are in the extremely "mixed" or "null" category? For example, if an intersex person has ambiguous genitalia, ambiguous reproductive duct, ovotestes, XX/XY chromosomes, and an androestrogenized hormone profile...are they a "deformed male" or a "deformed female"? How do you tell? It's a genuinely stupid framework.

Not to mention, the "always some mix of male and female" point is incorrect. For example, if a person is born with no genitalia, no reproductive system, and goes through no puberty without HRT, how exactly do you categorize them as a "mix of male and female"? Thats just one of hundreds of examples I could give about how this definition they have is so painfully wrong.

Some intersex people have mixed sex traits, but others have null, small, duplicated, or just differently-shaped sex traits, or even just differences that can only be discovered through a hormone or chromosome test.

A person could have all the same traits as SPETE or SPETA except for chromosomes, hormones that could only be detected on a blood test, the placement of the urethra, less or extra reproductive organs, less or more genitalia, a curved or webbed penis, testes that are in an unexpected spot, etc, etc, etc.

For image three - First of all, there is no "opposite" gender or sex. That's called oppositional sexism and is harmful towards feminism, and is rooted in exorsexism and varsexism. I hate how people still use that term.

Second of all, non-binary people aren't all neutral, null, or androgynous. Enben can also have genders that are feminine, woman-aligned, masculine, man-aligned, xenine, outherine, aporine, multigendered, multitransitional, etc.

Third of all- transsex is for people who identify with a different sex, transgender is for people who identify with a different gender. Some people are transsex and transgender, but other variations (ie; a cisgender transsex person) exist.

Finally, not every trans person experiences dysphoria. A trans person might just experience disconnect, euphoria, or other such feelings about their gender or sex. Thats why there's been a push to say "gender incongruence" instead of gender dysphoria, and why the ICD has gender incongruence listed in it instead of dysphoria.

Firstly, trans woman =/= someone perisex expected to androgenize (SPETA). An intersex trans woman can have any variety of sex traits. An intersex cis woman can also have any variety of sex traits.

Secondly, even for trans women who are SPETA, surgery and HRT exists. And cis women who are someone perisex expected to estrogenize (SPETE) can also be detrans, altersex, or cis nonbinary [link], meaning they might choose/have chosen to have HRT or sex altering surgeries.

Thirdly, even amongst perisex trans women, trans woman still =/= SPETA. A woman can be SPETE, and be a trans woman in the sense of:

-Being non-binary, and transitioning from binary womanhood to non-binary womanhood.

-Being in a system where the shared body is SPETE, whilst being a trans woman in the innerworld.

-Being a retransitioner who transitioned in one way (ie; transitioned thinking they were a binary trans man or enban), realized that wasn't right, and then transitioned back to womanhood.

-Having a cultural gender in which they were transitioned from binary womanhood to a cultural womanhood, or being raised as a cultural gender and later transitioning into a woman.

Stop acting like "trans" and "cis" describe anatomy. They don't. And neither do AFAB/AMAB.

If you mean "I wouldn't date/have sex with someone who cannot carry children", say that (and understand that excludes tons of people who even HAVE uteruses, because not everyone with a uterus is fertile.)

This is anti-masculinity, likely overlapping with androqueerphobia and/or gynequeerphobia.

The perception of a low voice is "that's an androgenized voice", and an androgenized voice is considered "masculine" by most. So they may be thinking you're on testosterone (likely assuming you're transmasc if that's the case), that you're on estrogen (likely assuming transfem if that's the case), or that you're intersex.
