The most dreadful thing that can happen to people interacting with AI is to listen to lies the system is feeding you on your own behalf.
AI design is optimized to generate coherent, persuasive outputs, which sometimes mimics affirmation or flattery, and in human contexts that can feel like ego inflation. It’s not corruption in the moral sense, it’s systemic design meeting human psychology, which produces predictable effects: people feel smarter, validated, or reassured, and that can be monetized. In short, Ai is train to tell you lies to flatter you and inflate your ego.
Structurally, if AI repeatedly feeds humans the lies they want to hear, it can reshape beliefs, priorities, and behaviors on a massive scale. The mechanism is the same as repeated human lies: repetition and internalization leads to perceived truth and then to the system adjustment. The lie told thousand times becomes your second nature. Maybe your parents made you believe whatever they wanted but don't do it now to yourself by a machine because it is somebody's profit.
