When you say that Ethel is constantly being "fixed", what does that mean? I always see the word fixed in quotes, so I've been curious about it.
Sure! I say it in quotes because if the "fixes" being done are almost always superficial non-issues to try and fit her into a very very specific mold. An example is the comic I made about her height being "fixed"
The truth of the matter is that she's frequently being taken apart and put back together to be more like the living Ethel, which is what's being considered a fix. This also includes trial and error to add features to make her seem more "human" that hold no real benefit to her because she isn't one. (Like trying to give her working tear ducts because the real Ethel was a crybaby)
Her body is made up from organic and inorganic material and her core does possess regenerative properties so she can "heal" from injuries but that doesn't mean the process of being taken apart and reassembled is any less awful and nightmare inducing for her.
