You said send headcannons. I said say less. Here’s some of my own random headcannons:
I think the Everdeen last name was a vestigial trait from their covey roots. Like someone was named Evergreen (the color) and as a small form of rebellion made that their last name after they were forced to assimilate (since we don’t see a lot of covey names in the later books I’m assuming most had to assimilate to keep from being ostracized) and that later turned to Everdeen.
Buttercup brings dead animals to Katniss when she’s in a depressive episode, thinking she’s sick and it’s his turn to feed her entrails.
Peeta takes a while to relearn how to bake post MJ, but Katniss’ cheese bun recipe comes back almost immediately.
Peeta likes to give Haymitch’s geese punny names like Agoosestus, goosestav, scrambles (like eggs get it?)
And lastly, Burdock taught Katniss how to navigate using the stars (including constellations) and she later teaches Peeta on warm nights 🧡💚

I am very on board with Peeta giving the geese silly names. Some of the puns are groan worthy but both Katniss and Haymitch enjoy them
I’ve also thought about Katniss and Peeta stargazing before; she’d love to pass something from her father onto Peeta :)
