Sometimes, James leaves Regulus sweet notes to cheer him up. 'You sock my world' tucked in his sock drawer. 'Star fuel' slipped along the sandwiches he packs him for lunch. 'Have a great day, gorgeous' attached to his desk. 'My life would be empty without you' nestled between the pages of Regulus' favorite book.

Regulus never brings them up, so James assumes he reads and discards them. One day, he's searching for something and comes across a binder at the very bottom of one of Regulus' drawers. When he opens it, he finds every single one of his notes there, each in its own special sleeve, carefully preserved and annotated with a date and description.

The binder is titled 'From the love of my life.'

James puts it back and never mentions it to Regulus, but he makes sure to leave him at least one note every day for the rest of their lives.

just thought about regulus leaving james a note (not sure where , i’m still deciding … ) before he leaves for the horcrux in the cave , and the only thing that comes to mind would be ‘thank you.’ nothing more, nothing less , just those two words & probably because he has so much to be thankful for when it comes to james . thanking him for showing him what being loved feels like , what it means to love someone else , for giving him a chance , for not giving up on him despite how much he pushed, for being true and raw and real. heart hurts <//3

reg moving away with his half of the inheritance from alphard and using it to fully transition so he's finally happy and comfortable and the first time he's finally ready to go out drinking again he's standing with pandora at the bar—barty and dorcas are dancing like crazy opposite them, and evan is outside trying to bum a cigarette off of someone—when he sees this guy in the crowd and he can't stop looking over at him. he's tall, brown fluffy hair, glasses, he's throwing his head back and laughing at something his friend said—she's cute too and he nudges pandora to get her attention, redheads are 100% her type—and reg just wishes he had the confidence to go over and talk to him.

good thing the guy does a few minutes later.

Can you imagine how happy Euphemia was when she found out that her son and Regulus were getting married? She had taken Regulus into her home when he was still a boy, so hurt, so vulnerable. She practically took him and Sirius into her arms, raising them as if they were her own children, loving them as if they were her own children.

She wasn't stupid, she knew her son; James had been born to her after all. And she knew her boy was in love. She saw it in her boy's eyes every time Regulus was around. The woman didn't want to squirm in her wisdom, but with a smirk on her face, she knew those two would end up together. And she couldn't help but feel proud and somewhat mischievous of herself when, just after James had turned twenty, asked Regulus to marry him.

She had suspected that her boy was up to something; James had been working twice as hard since he graduated. She, worried, seeing her son come home tired every night, tried to reassure him; telling him that there was no need, that he would never lack anything at home. Oh, little she know that James was saving to buy a ring, and to pay the first installment of the house he was going to buy for himself and Regulus.

Despite that, she did knew they would eventually get married. What she didn't expect was that they would give her grandchildren so soon.

When James and Regulus announced it, right after having lunch together, she was speechless, she just couldn't form the words, thousands of things were happening inside her. She then looked at Regulus, seeking confirmation. He had a soft smile on his face, and when Euphemia looked down, she saw a barely noticeable baby bump under Regulus' clothes and that's when she started crying. Oh, how she loved that boy. And although she always considered Regulus part of her family, this was different. She hugged him, so tight, crying into the poor boy's clothes. Regulus hugged her back, feeling so overwhelmed, no one had ever hugged him like that. He cried too, he couldn't help it. Everything was so overwhelming and so beautiful. She took the boy's face in her hands; she always thought Regulus was a very beautiful boy. And now he was hers; part of her family. Regulus had just given her the most beautiful gift that only he could give her, and Euphemia was never going to let him go. He was her boy too.

pairing: James Potter x Regulus Black

James’ love language is words of affirmation and physical touch, while Regulus' love language is acts of service and quality time

The basic Regulus fell first. James fell HARDER, like the man was whipped

Regulus could say ANYTHING in French and James would get all smiley

If they’re studying together James will not be focused on that book, his eyes will be glued on Regulus

James loves kissing (ex; sloppy kissing, heated kissing, French kissing) Any kissing, James loves it all

Doesn’t matter which one, given the opportunity, they will tie the other to the bedpost with their ties

James loves his hair being played with and pulled, and Regulus loves to snake his hands in James' hair any chance he gets and of course loves to pull it.

The first time James heard Regulus giggle, it left him a little stunned and then pleaded for him to again

James will leave a trail of kisses all over Regulus' body if given the chance

It's very easy for Regulus to get James to beg for him, and he loves it; he loves hearing the desperation in James' voice

James loves to belt lyrics of his favorite songs. Mind you, his voice cracks with every verse, and he is very tone-deaf. Regulus hates himself for loving when James sings

It gets very heated in bed after quidditch games, and if their teams go against each it's just a little rougher (more than a little depending on who wins)

James loves praise like LOVES it (especially in bed)

Regulus loves to leave as many marks he can on James (ex; hickeys, bite marks, scratches)

James is very needy for physical touch

They both can be the biggest teases ever, but Regulus knows exactly what gets James going, like teasing touches in an area where James can't do anything about it

James loves to listen to Regulus read aloud and literally begs him anytime he sees him reading to read to him

Regulus is the biggest brat

Remus and Reg purposefully try to make Sirius and James jealous by flirting with each other and it works EVERY TIME.

Remus will literally walk up to him and wrap his arms around Regulus' shoulders. "Where have you been all my life?"

Regulus just smirks and plays along immediately. "I'm here now, wanna now what it's like to be with the more attractive Black brother?"

The other two just lose their shit.

Slytherin actually beats Gryffindor in a quidditch match and Remus rushes to Reg to hug him, clinging to his arm the way James always does.

Sirius and James are literally fuming. They lost the game AND their boyfriends to each other.

Reg notices James getting needy for attention after he ignores him for too long and he purposefully gets really close to Remus, covering a blanket over both of their laps and giggling at Remus' notes in the margins of a book they're annotating.

James grabs Reg's hand and tugs him to the dorm room. Locking and silencing spells are cast. Neither of them resurfaces for hours.

They're just so petty and funny together because they know how possessive their boyfriends are.

it would start with an argument

"why do you have to ask so many questions?" "because i worry about you, regulus"

which would worsen...

"i don't see why you need to," "why won't you let me help you? merlin, reg, i don't want you getting hurt,"

and worsen...

"you don't understand anything. you just see me as some twisted fucking deatheater!" "oh, and that's so far from the truth?"

and then blow up

"get the fuck out of my house, " "GLADLY!"

regulus would initially be pissed. like about to murder someone pissed

then the adrenaline dies down

and he realises he's just sent one of the only people he's ever loved into what could be considered a war zone

he's scared that someone will kill him

he's scared james will do something stupid

because james would; he'd run straight towards danger if someone else needed help

regulus calls remus about three hours after james leaves

"is james with you?" "yes, don't panic,"

"tell him i love him," "he knows, reg."

the next day, james would come back

very very nervously

"im sorry for yelling at you and for calling you a ... you know what, but im not gonna apologize for caring about you, regulus. i love you and part of that means being concerned about your safety."

"that's.. understandable, i suppose," the other man would pause, "i didn't treat you well either, last night. i regret what i said to you, james. my work is so utterly risky, i don't want to risk losing you as well."

"you could never lose me, love.. promise you'll be careful?"

"as careful as i can be,"

"that's not a promise,"

"agh, don't look at me like that... i promise to be careful. there. stop pouting,"
