Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him." Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned and said to him in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, "Do no cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' " Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord" - and that he had said these things to her.

I’ve heard some atheists say that the reason that they don’t believe in God is that they can’t get behind the idea of a loving God sending people to hell because they “weren’t good enough”, or didn’t meet a certain standard.
And with all due respect to anyone who thinks this, you’re missing the entire point.
The entire point of Christianity is that we don’t meet God’s holy standard. God is a perfect being, and as such, demands perfection from those who worship Him. And since we, being humans, can’t possibly meet a perfect standard, we deserve eternal damnation.
This is why Jesus stepping onto the scene is so important.
Because of Jesus, and His sacrifice on the cross, we can be righteous before the Father. Jesus took the punishment that we deserved upon Himself. He was punished in our place. As a result, God’s justice is satisfied and we are made righteous before the Father.
It’s because we don’t meet a perfect standard that Jesus came down to earth in the first place. It’s because we don’t meet a perfect standard that we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Since through it, God Himself conquered our sin and its consequence, death itself.
God doesn’t send anyone to hell, but rather honors their choice. If anyone doesn’t want to accept this amazing gift and act of mercy, then they will remain unrighteous before the Father, and as such, will get exactly what they want, an eternity away from God.
Those who are in hell aren’t there because they didn’t meet a standard, but because they didn’t put their faith in the One who did.
It’s not about living up to a standard, but about accepting this amazing gift from the Father.
If anyone has any more questions they’d like to ask about this subject, or about Christianity in general, my inbox is always open.
God bless, Jesus loves you ✝️❤️
