Rusty acting cold with you, imagine dressing up for him in a nice outfit and he says "that'll do" with the smallest smirk on his lips as he trails his eyes down your body. He'll rip that outfit off later and tell you how much better you look without anything on.

Him watching you while you sleep, smoking a cigarette, unable to focus on anything else but your sleeping face. Maybe he reaches down to feel how smooth your skin is compared to his, checking that you're still breathing while he does, his own breath suddenly unheld once he confirms that you are.

He cares about you a whole lot then he lets on, but he hardly ever seems to express it any other way but physically. His arms always hold you tight, his free hand goes down to hold yours while he drives, he has you take in a drag of his cigarette while he watches quietly only to chuckle when you start to cough. His touches can range from the most gentle he's ever been to rough and wild, but still, he never says how he loves you very often, the words only existing as lost whispers in the dead of night or passionate groans as he presses deeper into you.

Rusty Nail loves to feel himself wrapped around you in any way possible, whether it's your throat swallowing around his finger or your thighs hugging his waist. He hardly ever spends a moment around you without having you clung to him.

He notices how much you want his attention, praise and love. There's no doubt in his heart that he loves you more than any songbird he's ever seen, but still, making you desperate for him is his guilty pleasure. He loves seeing how desperate you are for his hands to brush back your hair, how much you want to feel of his hand grasping your chin, or how you want to hear his sweet whispered words in your ear. He knows you want that level of attention, and the way he teases you about it through acting cold from moment to sweet the next makes you all the more crazy for him. He loves it, he likes holding you in a state of loved and yet not loved enough. He loves seeing the shake in your eyes as he teases you or maybe even scares you. But the way you take it and love him despite how much he scares you has him always going in for more of that messed up love you have for each other.

I talked about Rusty throwing hints through his hands about how he feels; last time, it was nervousness. I'm gonna go over a few more.

Happy - Rusty shakes his hands happily. If he's sitting down or driving, he taps his thigh or the steering wheel rhythmically. You can sometimes catch him humming a little tune, maybe even dancing in his seat a little bit.

Thinking - Rusty scratches lightly at his stubble, or he's covering his mouth with his hand & tapping his index finger at his cheek.

Angered - Rusty has a horrible temper, but it's not immediate. It slowly builds up within minutes, but his grip threatens to break something. The steering wheel is hanging on to dear life & praying that Rusty doesn't break it off in a fit of rage. If he's not holding onto the steering wheel, his fists are clenched up in a tight ball. It's best to stay away from Rusty whenever he's pissed off because the more mad he gets, the more likely he is to break something or someone, because he will not hesitate any longer than he has to.

(Bonus) Romantic - Rusty is a squeezer, especially with hugs. However, if you're not a fan of hugs or maybe it's not the time, he squeezes your hand. If he's driving, he's using his free hand to rub your thigh. You can also catch him smiling a little bit when he does.

All of my headcanons will always be gender-neutral for the reader because I try to keep it ambiguous & I totes got headcanons for Rusty!

I feel like, despite his horrible temper, Rusty is a sweet lover. However, he's very picky about the type of lover he wants, so that side of Rusty is rarely seen. I would say his type of lover is the sweet & gentle lovers, literally the opposite of Rusty. Rusty deals with assholes most of the time, whether that's teens breaking his shit, pranking him over the CB, & stealing his car; having someone who actually treats him with respect is a breath of fresh air, & it makes it easy to catch his heart.

He will treat you gently, teasing you every now & then but not too much, because Rusty knows he can easily break your spine, so he tries to keep the roughhousing to a minimum. Honestly, this doesn't just apply to roughhousing. Sexual situations, carrying you, & helping you with some manual labor. Rusty is strong as a bear.

Despite being an older man, Rusty does know how the internet works. If anything, he's very tech-savvy because how else can he find out who fucked him over so easily? However, Rusty doesn't understand the lingo of the newer generations. He doesn't use social media as most do. If he had an online profile, he would be caught more easily. He will always remain as a anonymous internet stalker.

Rusty is extraordinary with a lasso & has an amazing aim. Give this man a chain lasso & you're FUCKED.

Following up on that, he's good with guns, but he doesn't find that as fun. Strangling people with a chain or crushing their heads like a watermelon with a foot jack, now that's something. Guns make the chase too easy.

Besides Rusty's favorite dice gambling game, Rusty loves Blackjack. It's like his dice game, but it requires a little more skill.

Rusty doesn't like doing shopping trips, especially if you take him to the mall. He hates getting pestered by salespeople & getting offered rewards. He wants to get what he needs & get out as soon as possible.

Following up on that, if you're shopping for yourself, he's going to get bored, but it makes you happy, so he tolerates it just for you. However, if you offered to try on clothes for him & treat it like a little fashion show, Rusty would be locked in IMMEDIATELY. He suddenly becomes chatty, commenting on your outfit & just admiring your beauty.

Rusty is poetically romantic when he wants to be. It comes with being old, Southern, & having the perfect voice for a Ford Truck commercial.

Rusty is 6'6. He's tall as shit & he hits his head on doorframes sometimes. You'll definitely catch him bending a little bit to get through the doorframe, depending on the place.
