An idea just popped in my mind and I needed to request it
Reader is Yong-Sik daughter, and Geum-Ja her grandma invited them, and everyone (Hyunju, Junhee, Gyeong-Seok and his daughter, Young-Mi, Gi-hun) to dinner. Reader really like Hyunju, she call her auntie, they are really close together, and when it’s time for Hyunju to go back home reader is sad and almost throw a tantrum :(
Maybe some fluff and reader might be friends with Gyeong-Seok daughter too!
A/N: Hi ty for your request i really like writing it, family fluff and friendship is so comforting to write and i hope you like what i made out of your request!
The sweet aroma of various spices, foods, and a tiny bit of heated oil filled the scent that had already spread from the small kitchen to the entryway.
"Halmoni? I'm hungry!" - you say plaintively, tiptoeing closer to the open kitchen door in your pink princess slippers. You love it when your grandmother cooks; she's truly a great cook, and a freshly cooked meal from her is like a hug. A comforting hug.
"Of course you're hungry, my dear! I told your father half an hour ago to give you a plate of kimchi to try. He probably ate it all himself. Grandma will give you some right away," your grandmother said.
And then you hear pots clattering in the kitchen, dishes rustling, and a few moments later, your grandmother hands you a piece of gimbap to eat. You thank her, and as you pop the small, round piece of gimbap into your mouth and eat it, you notice your grandmother, wearing her panda-bear apron, returning to the stove and continuing to cook dinner.
Satisfied with a snack, you go into the adjoining living room of your grandmother's small house. You and your appa live in a tiny apartment just a few streets away, and you often hang out at Halmoni's house. But you had to scold your appa first. How could he eat all that kimchi that was meant for you as a snack by himself! Mean appa!
"Appa!" - you say reproachfully when you see your father, Park Yong-sik, sitting in an old armchair in the living room, and on the small side table next to him is an empty little plate with the unmistakable sauce that belongs to kimchi.
Of course, Park Yong-sik acted as if he were completely clueless and unaware of any wrongdoing, and then he took you onto his lap with a—was Appa's little favorite panda also hungry for kimchi—uh-oh.
You looked at him seriously through the lenses you were wearing. You inherited your Appa's bad eyesight and have needed glasses for a while now. But your father just laughed and, to distract you, told you why Halmoni was cooking the big dinner and who all her friends had invited.
It worked because your anger over the unshared kimchi dissipated.
"…good friends of Halmoni and Appa's are coming over later. We met… on the… hike. Yes, exactly on the hike you went on with your godfather… yes, Appa and Halmoni missed you soooo much too. Our friends are called Jun-hee, Young-Mi, Hyunju, and Gi-Hun," your father began to explain, and you nodded slowly, even though none of those names meant anything to you. It's become less common for your father or grandmother to invite friends over for dinner, and you're curious if the friends are nice.
"And Park Gyeong-seok is coming over too…"
But your father couldn't even finish the sentence because the name obviously sounded familiar, and if Uncle Gyeong-seok is coming too, that can only mean one thing! Your very best new friend is coming too. Yay!
Your father nods, and you've met Ne-Yeon several times before. Your fathers know each other from a cross-company event, and you became friends with Ne-Yeon during a visit to the amusement park. Now you're not at all resentful of your father for eating the kimchi alone. You absolutely have to prepare the tea party playset in your room, which your grandmother set up for you in your father's old room, and get all the toys you want to play with Ne-Yeon.
And when Ne-Yeon and Gyeong Seok were the first to show up at the house, you grab your friend's hand and don't give your grandmother or your father a chance to greet the first guests.
"Come on, let's play tea party!" you giggle, and a few moments later, you're so engrossed in your tea party that you don't even notice the other friends of the adults coming by and the loud babble of the adults wafting up to the upper floor of the house.
"Girls? Dinner's ready," - your grandmother poked her head into the room, a loving smile spreading across her face as she watched you and your new friend playing tea party.
"Kay kay Halmoni! I'm soooo hungry," - you giggled, and together with Na-Yeon, you walked down the stairs to the ground floor, where you were immediately confronted with many new faces and names.
You waved to all the guests and then let your appa sit on your lap because there aren't enough seats or options around the table. While the meal was filled with conversation and shared laughter, one guest in particular seemed to be receiving a lot of your attention.
After dinner, you let her hold you, admire her beautiful dark hair, and she gets to braid your own hair. Of course, she gets to play along with Na Yeon at the tea party, and Hyunju was really good at playing tea party.
And of course, you didn't miss out on the shared girl power of offering the other guests a tea party cup. You brought the small pink tray with the plastic cups into the living room, where the other adults were sitting and chatting, and you could feel the camaraderie and the family atmosphere.
Jun-hee, Young-Mi, and Gi-Hun were handed a tea party cup, and they were a bit overwhelmed by the game, but that was perfectly fine. Gi-Hun and Jun-hee even played catch with you, and Young-Mi showed you how to make beautiful paper animals out of origami.
As lovely as this dinner and the hours that followed were, it was eventually time for the guests to say goodbye. You said goodbye many times, but… when your new favorite aunt - Hyunju - had to go home, you didn't like it at all.
You were about to throw a tantrum and cry out loud.
"Auntie, no! Don't go! Stay!" - you whimpered, hugging Hyunju's right leg tightly. She shouldn't leave!
"Hey, sweetie, don't cry, okay? Auntie Hyunju will definitely be back soon. Your grandmother makes wonderful kimchi, and the chicken was absolutely delicious too," - Hyunju cooed, touched by your affection, and took you in her arms. You snuggled up to her, and Hyunju stroked your hair soothingly.
"Promise? Auntie Hyunju will be back?" - you asked, looking at her hopefully.
"Of course! I promise! Where else do you have the best tea parties?"
And it was a promise Hyunju would keep.
