*silently expects my mother to freak out that she'll have to communicate with him in English*

President Trump is encouraging governors to reopen places of worship.

He said “In America, we need more prayer, not less.”

No, this is not a ploy to get our votes. No, he is not forcing churches to reopen. No, he is not abusing his power as president. 

He is simply protecting the First Ammendment rights.

I watched the live press conference and the White House press secretary is pretty good. The reporters were trying to get her to say that Trump was using his power as president to force open churches against advice of a doctor (the argument is twofold: Trump is abusing his power as president and is encouraging Americans to not follow sanitary restrictions). However, she caught on and pulled the broken record method. She just kept on saying “He is only encouraging governors to reopen while following the sanitary restrictions written by the doctor in collaboration with Trump” (or something like that).

Now, the wait for churches to open.
