I found more kabouters! These ones have silly expressions i love them, the style of these is heavily inspired by snow white, they're too old for me to tell whether rhey reflect any of the snowwhite characters directly but i am personally not a big fan of the beard behind the face style but they're cute i'll give them that.

Kabouters are one of those things where i feel like the folk believe in them is right under the surface and therefore i love documenting them.

Kabouters are so important to me, when i was younger i grew up with all sorts of family stories about keeping the kabouters happy and how to take care of them, a lot of that involved porrage but my young self didn't like porrage that much so i decided that kabouters must also like candy and i would leave candy out for my home kabouters that i had asked to come home with me from all sorts of places. It's a practice that i slowly want to get back to.

I got to give a spinning demonstration at a petting zoo today and i had some lovely conversations and saw some lovely things. It was such a blessing to be able to partake in this and show people spinning especially since i get to spin the wool from the sheep kept at this petting zoo. Spinning connects me so much to vrouw holle and i adore that so much it's something that i adore doing in dedication to her.

This petting zoo has a kabouter garden where you can bring your own kabouters and they're arranged to form a village / interact with each other and i wanted to share because this is such a wonderful place to me.

Ek hoor vanoggend ʼn duifie koer net buite my venster, hier in die grote stad. En ek onthou: Eendag, lank gelede (so voel dit) het ek en ‘n Kabouter in ʼn goor straat, in ʼn goor dorp, in ʼn goor tyd, wat daardie tyd was, gestap. Toe die Kabouter met die blou-blou pet skielik met ʼn knipoog vir my sê:   “Hoor daar!” het hy gesê. “Die duifie sê rrrrondawel!” Net daar val my hart kadoemps op die…
