I have one last set of thoughts to inflict upon you all before the finale airs tomorrow, just so I can look back and see if I’m anywhere close to correct afterwards.
This is your warning to hit J or scroll real fast to the next post if you don’t want to see this.
Ok, here's the rough outline on my current thoughts on the events which have led us to the finale.
Omega enhanced the batch and considers them to be her property.
She's been sending Hunter messages via his built in wifi and sending him on 'special' missions for years now, but he didn't know who his secret boss actually was.
Not until she sent him the message on Onderon saying 'look asshole, I'm your fucking boss now get your arse back here and pick me the fuck up!'
But then Cross got uppity with Hunter in front of her so she got rid of him - she thought.
She's been working on influencing the other Batch members while she's been in close proximity to them but it’s Hunter she really NEEDS to make this whole thing work.
But even Hunter is getting a bit sick of her shit by the time of Raxus - when he suggests to Wrecker that she needs rest and should maybe ease off a little. But he can't catch a break even when she isn't there because she's lodged too deeply in his brain.
When she's taken by Bane her programming of Hunter makes him desperate to find her and it drives him wild - even though when she comes back he doesn't even want to touch her.
When Hunter is taken from her she's super stressed because without him all of this is going to fall apart, because as soon as the others start to think about shit for themselves none of this is going to make sense anymore and she'll lose her control over them. Maybe? This is a grey area.
She's just not good enough to maintain things without Hunter because her abilities are untrained.
Crosshair is now more of a thorn in her side than he ever was and she's going to have to deal with him once and for all if she wants to keep the Batch just like she wants them.
And cut to part 2 of the finale.
Obviously I could go into more detail here if I had more time, but you get the gist.
Crosshair has known, or strongly suspected, that shit ain't right for quite some time.
But Hunter needs him because he'll stay quiet and he's morally flexible enough to not ask too many questions.
Hunter planned to snatch Caleb and bring him back to his boss/Kamino where they'd have been able to use him for force related experiments?
But Caleb ran and Hunter planned to report in that he 'stunned him when he jumped. He didn't make it.' but Crosshair, seeing an opportunity out of this blazing dumpster fire of an existence, reported otherwise and dropped him right in the shit.
So maybe he really did choose the Empire, but only because they were pretty much working for them anyway - and he knew it!
