i like to think that kaz is ambidextrous not for fighting in the barrel, not for sleight of hand, forgery, or lockpicking, but because jesper is left handed and used to always sit next to kaz at restaurants so that their elbows would bump together and kaz eventually got ragebaited enough to do something about it

jesper probably didnt know how to fight when he came to ketterdam, so either he learned on his own, or, more interestingly, kaz taught him.

Just the concept of 15 year old kaz, filled with feral rage teaching 15 year old scared, adhd, completely smitten jesper how to throw a punch. absolutely stunning.

Jesper Fahey has to be one of the bravest people in the grishaverse. For many reasons, but mostly because if I spent years crushing on my boss/best friend, and he told me that I remind him of his dead brother, I would straight up leave the country.
