The market-based value of activities/labor is wrong and unjust.
Workers who are labeled essential during a pandemic are underpaid. If the economy can not function without them, we must re-evaluate their wages and their importance.

Merry Christmas!
Wishing you all a wonderful day wherever you are, whoever you’re with and whether you celebrate or not
I want to say a massive thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my fellow key workers across the world working over the holiday. You are appreciated, supported and cherished ❤️
I hope you manage to have as much fun as Dylan had with that christmas tree 😂🎄xxx
Game Changer painted by Banksy
Banksy donated this magnificent painting, Game Changer, in honor of the UK medical personnel who fight daily to control the covid19 pandemic.
he left a note saying: "Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white."
<Real-life heroes battling Covid-19> Game Changer depicts a young child playing with a toy Red Cross nurse wearing a cape and face mask. In a nearby basket, figurines of Batman and Spiderman lay forgotten.
Game Changer had been displayed at the hospital, UHS, and spread a message of huge gratitude and hope. Now the work sold for $23M at Christie's in London and the proceeds is going to support NHS charities. Though the work leaves the hospital, its reproduction will replace the original work.
I don’t want applause or badges, or songs, or benches.
I don’t even want a pay rise (although there are plenty of key workers who need it)
What I want is an assurance
That the NHS will stay free at the point of use, forever.
That it will not be sold off to the highest bidder.
That hospitals will not have to get by on minimum staffing that is deemed safe (but isn’t)
That mental health services will be treated as equal to physical health services, so noone will be told that they are “too well for treatment”
That the government will make meaningful efforts into public health instead of shaming those who can’t afford the privilege of healthy food and safe ways to exercise
That everyone of working age in the country can afford to live, whether that’s with a minimum wage job or with benefits.
That the richest will not continue to get richer by not paying their taxes, and that taxes collected are used for what they are intended - to better the lives of the people of this country through better education, healthcare, welfare and social care.
That the government care about the key workers because they are people and not because they keep the economy going.
Who is still working?
Who gets to work from home?
Who gets paid to work from home?
Who makes the sacrifices?
