retired hitman/sorcerer killer, toji, goes off to live in a remote fishing village where the average population is the age of 70+
I have too much to ramble about this au so gonna put it in a read more.
toji normally keeps to himself, but the older folk in the village just won't leave him alone
they kept giving him vegetables and fish, sharing meals w him, or those ginseng drinks lol
the older men would give him pointers on where the best fishing spots and times are and how to maintain his shitty boat
and drag him to drink w them even tho' alcohol does nothing for him
they would be SO shocked w the monstrous fish that toji brings back, hauling over his shoulder like it's nothing and he'd be like "how are we cooking this ladies?" and they'd be like "what the fuk is that???"
oh ya the old folk has SUCH a potty mouth and they hold NOTHING back-- makes toji laugh
the older ladies LOOOVEEE to dote on him... compare him to their grandson
and other ladies would be like "u senile hag he's nuthin' like ur washed up grandson" lol
other older ladies would try and set toji up with their grand daughter who's like fresh outta college and toji rolls his eyes
saying he already got two brats he's providing for, "don't need a new one who thinks they know everything about the real world"
oh ya in this au, toji sends monies back to tsumiki and megumi (woah i know) but he's still v much a distant father figure
he sometimes asks tsumiki how things are and she's the one that usually bridge the gap between him and megumi
but they're still pretty distant-- but in toji's mind he's like 'as long as they got a roof over their heads and food then they're fine'
anyway the older folk would ask toji all the time for help on physical labor bc look at him...
can rip apart a thick chunk of log like captain america w his bare hands
he is SOOO good at filleting fish-- so fast like gordon ramsay
the older ladies would buy him sun visors and let him in on the gossip of the village when he's selling in the market
he knows waaay too much about the medical history of everyone in the village
yes several older folk has told him "if i was 30 years younger..."
they have also showed him older photos of themselves and toji would be like "ur beautiful back then and even moreso now."
and the old ladies would be cheesin' so hard LMAOO
there is gambling there and toji does partake in it... loses every time smh and the older folk always laugh
toji likes to wake up super early to do his morning runs down by the seaside and look off at the sun rise
now if i wanna project an x reader moment in here...
maybe there's a death in the village that's affecting the old folk and it's spreading
they don't know if it's a sickness or anything--
but it's actually like a curse that's been feeding off of everyone
the grandchild of one of them comes to visit the village to see what's going on and make sure their grandpa/ma is ok
and she's idk a sorcerer-- and toji who figures out what's going on is like “ur in way over ur head.”
idk just think of it like a siren (horror game) scenario bc i love to project that game since it's my fave horror HAHA
anyway he's grown an attachment to the old folks and so he reluctantly decides to help the sorcerer out
got angst and sexy times bc why not LOL
too lazy to write it-- if someone else writes it... i'll be tempted to draw something for it HAHA
