The joy of PRINTMAKING! Printmaking has been such a wonderful process to explore creativity over the years with toddlers, kids and adults. It is a great way to develop visual literacy through investigating shapes, patterns, textures, lines, letting the hands play freely with materials and then giving structure through considered designs through decision making, creative thinking. From making textural stamps from out of the recycling bin, to spontaneous demonstration of mono printing in response to a young child’s actions with paint and drawing in a class, or new takes on the rubber stamp carving for t-shirt motif design. So many ways to investigate, here are a few of our favourites. The two Kids Art LABS trials on Saturday morning will begin with explore some printmaking, taking everyday objects and making bold textured patterned images and stencils from them.
