An simple repeated object can be a real companion or focus for a small child, they find it again and take joy in exploring their world with it, enjoying the familiarity of it in appearing in front of them. This toddler artist has across this past term at Sensory Art Play, really focussed on the balls and circles within each LAB. She enjoyed textured ones in paint, the feel and patterns made with it, ping pong ball inside a whisk listening to the sound it makes (try it!), rolled balls in clay, and then a squashed ball between the toes! It was particularly interesting to notice her reaction to circles printed on the glowing lightbox- flat shapes that can’t be picked up. Such beautiful slow moments, full of curiosity and wonder! 🌱✨ . . . . #mamakindkurs #slowfamily #elternkindkurs #kinderkunst #kunstberlin #littleart #littleartists #berlinmitkind #kreativkinder #littleartberlin #prenzlauerberg #berlinkids #childledart #reggioinspired #berlinfamily #berlinwithkids #kinderkunstkurs #kleinkinder #hauptstadtmitkind #kidsartworkshop #kunstkurs #kinderkunstwerkstatt #malortberlin #kinderkurs #senefelderplatz #berlinkids #toddlerartist #berlinprenzlberg #theslowcreativityproject (at Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany)
Part 2--Close Ups! >>>Gel Plate printing is a truly magical part of our Adult Experimental Image Making course, with how spontaneous it can be, how it gives surprisingly quick and delightful results. Adults with no recent art experience have particularly enjoyed this technique. This week was so varied with such creative ideas for making marks and layers on the inking plate, with lots of swapping their creations, allowing another to imprint their own marks on top, embracing another’s ideas. They were playing around with cutting positive / negative space stencils, using a decaying fern grabbed from the HOF to break up the geometrics and adding some collage details. Want to come and try this part of the longer course out, as an afternoon workshop? We offer a relaxing space to get back in touch with your ‘hands on’ creativity. Come, explore and takeaway a whole range of styles- bold, abstract and delicate pieces of work directly into note cards, beautiful and simple papers, just by letting go of working towards a specific outcome, and following your curiosity. Our gently guided Experimental Printmaking workshop on Sunday 1st July offers a space to really get into your flow with your hands, and out of a busy mind. So much to reveal and conceal through layers, stencils, looking at the work of artists, printmakers and graphic artists. >>>>> For full info and to book check out the Bio link above, Adults. 💥🌱 #senefelderplatz #berlinworkshop #berlinartists #slowberlin #berlinprenzlauerberg (at Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany)

So amazed by the incredible women in my Experimental Image Making class, for just taking a seed of an idea or pile of materials and unlikely tools, just trying something out. So many of them feel they haven’t done anything with their hands exploring making marks or be purely creative for themselves, feeling 100% goal orientated at work, for such a long time. It’s not easy to just let yourself work intuitively, with a beginner’s mind, but I can see that confidence growing each week, trusting themselves in their creative flow. The workshop this class, invited playful Photography with analogue wet tray chemigrams and photo batik. We explored applying details with stamping objects in fixative, embracing letting go with magical marks appearing in front of our eyes, not how as had been thought, but just going with it and combining with bleeding tissue paper colour experiments. Oh and the joy of that black and white paper appearing 3D through tones of grey! So very lovely 😊 Fancy joining us for the new September Term? Yay for Clay in our Kids Art LABs! This 8 year old little artist was carefully creating precise patterns out of keys, pressing them in at varying depths to give different layered results in the cast. Such a wonderful real art medium, perfect natural material for kids of all ages. The 5-12 year olds in the Saturday Art LABs LOVED it for both drawing and casting objects into. We explored different directions - more identity based in “Who Am I? “ and pattern making with personal objects. Art for kids can often be set up purely about flat paper based work. We also love to build spatial confidence and fine motor skills in 3D sculpting and 2D relief work through mark making tools, to scratch and pull the surface, combining with sticks, small figurines, wooden pieces, and tell our stories. 😍💡🔑#kreativkinder #childledart . . #kinderkunst #berlinart #kidsartberlin #kunstberlin #berlinmitkind #littleartberlin #prenzlauerberg #berlinwithkids #senefelderplatz #reggioinspired #littleartberlin #kinderkunstkurs #kinderkunstwerkstatt #malortberlin #senefelderplatz #berlinwithkids #berlinprenzlberg #berlinatelier #berlinworkshop #berlinmitkindern (at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz)
