Part 2--Close Ups! >>>Gel Plate printing is a truly magical part of our Adult Experimental Image Making course, with how spontaneous it can be, how it gives surprisingly quick and delightful results. Adults with no recent art experience have particularly enjoyed this technique. This week was so varied with such creative ideas for making marks and layers on the inking plate, with lots of swapping their creations, allowing another to imprint their own marks on top, embracing another’s ideas. They were playing around with cutting positive / negative space stencils, using a decaying fern grabbed from the HOF to break up the geometrics and adding some collage details. Want to come and try this part of the longer course out, as an afternoon workshop? We offer a relaxing space to get back in touch with your ‘hands on’ creativity. Come, explore and takeaway a whole range of styles- bold, abstract and delicate pieces of work directly into note cards, beautiful and simple papers, just by letting go of working towards a specific outcome, and following your curiosity. Our gently guided Experimental Printmaking workshop on Sunday 1st July offers a space to really get into your flow with your hands, and out of a busy mind. So much to reveal and conceal through layers, stencils, looking at the work of artists, printmakers and graphic artists. >>>>> For full info and to book check out the Bio link above, Adults. 💥🌱 #senefelderplatz #berlinworkshop #berlinartists #slowberlin #berlinprenzlauerberg (at Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany)

When the young artists come in for their Kids Art LABS on Saturday mornings, the stage is set: This week involved a provocation of rollers, ink and boxes of textures, where they are offered the idea to just start playing to uncover the possibilities for themselves. They share tips as they go with one another, grabbing more paper, different surfaces, changing scale and size of roller. The 5 - 7 year old young artists were totally energised by their playful creativity, absorbed in the power of the print roller to grab textures and make lines, spontaneous stripes of colour, overlayed again and again. It was full of lovely surprises, like when textures felt under your fingers don’t leave behind the patterns you expect in the ink. More ink? less ink? what happens to the details? A couple of things I observed they discovered in their experiments: Exploring a roller to create long repeating textures from leaves and recycling, pushed from saturated solid colour to barely visible, back and forth, and how the roller tilted on its side gives really delicate lines drawing around objects, and interwoven lines crossing again and again. So much FUN to be had with printmaking with colour! >>>>> fancy joining us? We are booking now with EARLY BIRD discount for September Term of the Kids LABs (and for the 8-12 years class ), through the website or email us mailto:[email protected]! 🌟 #kidsartberlin #berlinmitkind #kreativkinder . . . #kinderkunst #berlinart #kunstberlin #berlinmitkindern #littleartberlin #prenzlauerberg #hauptstadtmitkind #kunstmitkindern #druckenmitkindern #slowberlin #kidsinberlin #kinderkunstkurs #kinderkurs #senefelderplatz #berlinprenzlberg #berlinkids #kidsofberlin (at Senefelderplatz)
The joy of MASKING TAPE- everyone finds a different idea! Today we had an afternoon as a family playing in the studio with paint, print and tape. I love masking tape as for me it has had great possibilities to add a quick geometric direction in an image, especially great to contrast with fluid organic lines. I have this book I love ( Die Welt von Innen, by Julie Coquart) full of the most stunningly detailed and boldly coloured microscopic images of the inner worlds inside flora and fauna. The book often comes out when I’m thinking about slowing down with tiny repetitive drawings and paintings. Today I played with layering of tracings, Posca pens, size 0 brushes, primary coloured acrylic and then for a change of scale, added the masking tape to give a stripe overlay. My little artist was really into the block of wood I was painting onto so grabbed her own, and tried out writing our initials using the tape. Her dad then took the tape into his own prints, making new works with the tape once removed. Such fun and so important - being inspired by one another! 🌟👨👩👧#familienleben #familyart #creativefamily . . . #slowdownenjoymore #kinderkunst #berlinart #kunstberlin #berlinmitkind #littleartberlin #kunstzusammen #reggioinspired #malortberlin #tapeart #berlinmitte #malenmitkindern #mamakindzeit #papakindzeit #kidsart #processart #kunstmitkindern #sonntaginberlin #familienzeit #slowfamilyberlin #slowberlin #kreativkinder #kreativfamilie #kreativität #berlinfamily (at Senefelderplatz)
