It won’t happen, but it would be pretty funny if in the live action HTTYD they abandon the whole “Toothless is the last Night Fury” thing and show some extra furies in the background like it’s no big deal.

Well, there is that kid's book that's a retelling of the first film that has other Night Furies in the background on a couple pages......🤔

But yeah all joking aside I can't see that happening but I agree it would be very funny!

If Hordak is going to appear in the new season does that mean we could eventually see She-Ra again? Or is there still some legal issue keeping her separate from He-Man? I'm pretty out of the loop with these things.

YEP. Pretty much.

This is one of the several reasons I don’t care for Dreamworks She-Ra. I think it has wonderful designs, and I really enjoy the diversified body types and the color palette. But the story I couldn’t stand, and it made the lore of She-Ra far less interesting, at least in my opinion.

For one thing. He-Man and She-Ra are twin properties. Literally. They’re twin siblings. Their stories are intertwined. She-Ra was created after He-Man so that there could be a feminine counterpart for all the girls who loved MOTU. I think it’s one of the most genius ideas that anybody at Mattel has ever come up with. (Let’s be real, it was just to sell toys and broaden their demographic, but you get the idea.) But when Dreamworks produced their She-Ra, it severed the possibility of them ever being shown together again, at least until the legal issue is resolved.

I know very little about copyright law, but I do know that Hordak has been a part of MOTU without the inclusion of She-Ra before, and has been featured in stories just on Eternia, with the original cast of MOTU. He was also featured as an important character in the 200x series, without any mention of She-Ra. I think he’s in a weird spot with copyright, because he features heavily in both properties. So MOTU and SPOP being separated for whatever reason is nothing new. Even in the 1987 film, She-Ra was originally meant to appear, but was cut from the script at some point.

At this point it seems silly of me to blame Dreamworks for the properties being separated, but I do really think it was the final nail in the coffin when the show was produced.

All these poor decisions led up to each other, and now we can’t have a story with them working together the way they were meant to be. It just makes me sad and frustrated. Sorry if you were hoping for something more idealistic, but it’s one of my biggest frustrations regarding my most prevalent special interest.
