Yarn chicken win! (Phew!)

im a beginner at knitting and my nan gave me this easy pattern for a baby hat because I want to knit one for my niece/nephew that’s on the way! I can understand and do the pattern just fine but the problem I have everytime I knit is the tension!! I can’t keep a level amount of tension, one bits loose and then tje next is too tight it’s just a mess.

has anyone got any advice or tips for working on this? I presume it’s just something you get better at controlling the more you knit?? I’m always practising on my needles with different styles of stitches to work on controlling tension, is that a good thing to be doing? help LMAO

Yes of course. I always make copies notes on a pattern in knitting. That way when I leave it under the bed for 6 months I know exactly where to start from when I pick it up again. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wish! Someday, maybe I'll learn to do this. But for now I've just lost an hour of my life sorting it out, thinking I knew where I was, then ripping back to start again where I actually was. Sigh! Still, all fine now and I'm back on track. And as is the way with these things I remember why I set it aside.
