call me delusional but yes i totally believe teddie was created by Yu and i will die on that hill. and this is only based on the extent of the anime and manga since the game itself leaves Yu largely up for interpretation.
i don't think yu was ever actually conscious of making teddie, teddie was just a result of Yu being forced to mature young and subsequently lose his childhood and that loss formed teddie. which means teddie would be like a piece of izanagi. like marie who split off into izanami and ameno sagiri. but unlike those 2 and teddie; teddie doesn't return to izanagi because he developed an ego. but teddie does return to yu through different means, aka their bond
besides Yu is a wild card with infinite possibilities. is it rlly impossible for one of those possibilities to split off

about her outfit change. i just thought being a sukeban would fit her very well, nothing against dekochari but i thought it made her more badass. my issues with her original design are that she looks like she's meant to be harley quinn, what with the dyed blonde twintails and blue-pink theme. the one blue hairtie with the three pink one also pisses me off like if you're gonna do asymetry at least make it make sense
also she's clearly lolibait so i tried to make her less child-like
the japanese on her skirt says her name and then the nicknames on her wiki page
very little to say about her backstory because there was genuinely NOTHING on the wiki. i had to write it from scratch
her role in the story, from what i've seen she is villainized way too much and von's misogyny really shows. i honestly don't know much about what happens between chapter 1 and 3 but her death was extremely unnecessary and just seemed like an attempt to keep the 2 victim chapter 3 trend going. anyway, for the bleeding motive, i've made her part of the additional bleeding (No idea if its like this in the original) and is essentially mutsuko's understudy in case anything goes wrong. she, mutsuko, and ogura are basically the main leaders of the bleeding. her and mutsuko's other role would be causing a distraction so that ogura has the chance to mess with isoda's guitar. this is where i think i would place kumada's attack on isoda, though instead of it being purely out of emotion it was sort of premeditated (this could be an arc of her learning to control her emotions and her actions). as a result kumada is apprehended and kept under the watchful eyes of a small group of people, which is just, maybe even better than what the bleeding wanted as it ensures that several people will be distracted. (i would probably make these people yaitabashi, hirose, and maekawa)
for her death, i would reassign her the role of chapter 5 culprit and tei as the chapter 5 victim. maybe something with the motive worsens his psychotic delusions and he makes a plan to get everybody killed. kumada finds out about this and, after seeing so many of her classmates die, she won't let him go through with it, even if they both have to perish to protect the survivors. i think it would be interesting if the final murder was the simplest—blunt force with a hard weapon. she doesn't try to cover up her crime because she doesn't intend to get away with it. she's trying to save her friends, is she not? she quickly confesses to the murder and insists that everybody votes for her, making them promise that they'll end the killing game. after she is executed, the survivors make a plan to rebel against monomoko and succeed, escaping the killing game (wanted to add that in my version, it ends when 2 people are left alive like the original danganronpa, so that it supposedly ends early after this 5th trial)
that was a lot so here's her short (imo) backstory:
Erina Kumada was born into a poor, dysfunctional family. Her parents were often out of the house, draining their money on alcohol and gambling, so she was under the care of her brother, Reimu, for many years. She saw him as controlling and often got into physical altercations with him. As she entered high school, Erina found comfort in the local Sukeban delinquent girl gang, who had similar experiences to hers. She considered them more a family than her real family ever was. As she grew up, she rose in the ranks of the gang, eventually becoming one of its major leaders when she graduated. Over the years, she has slowly separated herself from her family, and has set her mind on staying in the Sukeban and maybe joining the Yakuza.
Haven't posted much but I have been making a shit ton of sprite work for my project and am super proud of my progress both in the art and productivity department.
I will probably redo all my tetro sprite redesigns with my new style.
This year I had enough merch for 2 windows! I've been looking for an excuse to break in this bag and I'm so glad I found it...it was the perfect bag to carry prints in for easy access. The heart/logo side was focused on Adachi, Teddie, Yosuke, and Yukiko (with the tiniest sprinkle of Ryuji in there) while the girls side was focused on my babies Morgana and Mitsuo. Both ends of the bag had decorated selfship toploaders!! 💕 It was a bit hard filling the bag because of the adorable (but frankly obstructive) decals on both windows. 😅
