A short fluffy drabble about one of omelia’s kids finding out the tooth fairy isn’t real. I turned it into a Owen/Leo centric one shot. Hope you enjoy!
“Dad, what are you doing?”
Owen was trying to sneak the five dollar bill under Leo’s pillow yet ended up waking the 7 year old.
“Nothing buddy, I was just making sure you were tucked in nicely.”
“Your hand went under my pillow. Why?”
He took a deep breath trying to think of an excuse quickly.
“It looked a little flat. I’m sorry for waking you up.”
Leo was extremely skeptical so he reached under and felt the money.
“Dad, you put this there? Why? I thought it was the tooth fairy’s job.”
“Then why did you do it?”
“Technically I’m the tooth fairy.”
“You’re lying. I’m gonna tell Mama.”
Owen smiled and gave Leo’s hand a caring squeeze.
“Mama knows already because she’s technically the tooth fairy too. Moms and dads are the fairies.”
“So there isn’t a real fairy? It’s all fake?”
“If you want to see it that way, then yes.”
His brow furrowed, a trait he picked up from Amelia. They would both do that when they were pondering something they didn’t like.
Owen pinched the bridge of his nose, accepting that he didn’t get anywhere with Leo. He actually made things worse.
“She’s asleep. You can talk to her in the morning.”
“Do Leah, Liam, Layla, Logan, and Lilly know the tooth fairy is fake?”
“Nope. The three littles are too small to understand. Liam and Leah haven’t found out and I’m hoping they don’t. Can we keep it a secret?”
He couldn’t help but laugh. Leo really was Amelia’s son.
“I’ll give you $20 if you promise you don’t tell your brothers and sisters.”
“Deal. Good night Daddy.”
“Night kiddo. I’ll see you in the morning.”
“I love you to the moon.”
“I love you to the stars.”
