Oh would you look at that, it's been a year since I released my Deltarune fangame! You can find it on my itch io page, in the post pinned on my tumblr.
In case you haven't tried it, I hope you'll give it a [BiG SHOT]. It's a reimagining of the Ch2 Spamton Neo boss fight as a railshooter/lightgun game. It's inspired by the likes of House of The dead, Lost World Arcade, Ocean Hunter, Maze of Kings and so forth. I really enjoyed making it, so I hope you'll also enjoy playing it too!
The fact that it's already been a year is kinda crazy. This also means it's been about a year since CH3+4 released, doesn't it? I finished it just in the nick of time before the new chapters released, luckily everything just fell into place. Time sure does fly, huh? Speaking of, I'm currently working on a followup game, I hope you will check it out when it's done!
I came to a realization earlier today and was VERY normal about it.
Ever wonder why Tenna specifically chose to include guns in TV Time?
Simple answer actually-
Old plug-and-play games like Duck Hunt and other light gun games don’t work if you’re using an LCD screen.
They can only be played properly with CRT screens due to their internal electron beam within a CRT, but also for the zero input-lag which is required for said quick-time-event games.
For the non-nerds:
CRTs, basically, “draw” their images by rapidly scanning the screen line by line, allowing light guns to sense the exact moment a white pixel flashes on a specific part of the screen.
The zero input-lag is REQUIRED for light gun games as well, which is something flatscreens cannot accomplish due to the way they display their screens specifically.
You can’t play light gun games without a CRT! It’s literally a special quirk that fits his entire motif! ITS FUCKING PERFECT!
But it’s also just speculative, and I’m insane. But if true? CRAZY. <- she’s insane
'Lethal Enforcers II: Gun Fighters'
[ARC] [UK] [MAGAZINE] [1994]
"In this game, the goal is to shoot outlaws in order to eradicate crime from a stereotypical town in the American West of 1873. At the beginning of the game, three to five life units are available. In the arcade version, more can be purchased by inserting additional coins. Life units are also awarded based on how many points the player scores while playing the game. Every time the player, an innocent civilian or lawman is shot, one life unit will be lost. The game overs when all life units are gone, but continued play is available. Lethal Enforcers 2 has five stages: "The Bank Robbery", "The Stage-Holdup", "Saloon Showdown", "The Train Robbery", and "The Hide-Out". During each stage, the player must shoot the armed outlaws without harming any innocent townsfolk or fellow lawmen. One shot is enough to kill most enemies. Each stage features a boss that must be killed in order to complete the stage (though a unique case happened in the third stage where the boss battle is in the form of a dueling mini-game). Just like the original game, a dip switch setting in the arcade version allows operators to let players progress through the stages in a linear fashion ("arcade mode") or select individual stages ("street mode"), including the between level target practice stages." ~Wikipedia
