I have a friend without a physical disability who keeps using "cripple" as an insult or calling someone with a temporary mobility aid one and it's genuinely made me so uncomfortable.
Whether physically disabled or not tbh it would be problematic. Using slurs as an insult isn't how you reclaim slurs?
Honestly I don't know how to bring it up to them.
I can guarantee they don't have much malice or don't realize how much slurs can actually hurt, but.. I kinda need them to stop doing that.
Edit !!!: If you have any ideas on how to bring it up without sounding mean (as I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they just aren't aware of the impact....) pls tell me, I'm autistic and I cannot read an allistic person's expressions or social cues. Like at all.
