The frog of the well

So I’ve been watching M:LeCT

Alright, so we're gonna bust out some theories. Or maybe not theories, but more like observations. This may also correlate to some pretty important franchises other than Miraculous, because GUESS WHAT?

MULTIVERSE THEORIES lol jk

Ladybug is the Miraculous form of Marinette. She uses a yo-yo (can you believe it, they use YO-YO for a name?), with a Special of Lucky Charm, and has the purifying/de-evilising/exorcism effect on Akumas. It's pretty evident how Ladybug is clearly much faster than Marinette, specifically displayed in S1EP4 where Marinette tells Tikki that "I might not be able to reach there in time...but Ladybug can."

That's pretty obvious of a trait to me.

Marinette also experiences a confidence boost when becoming Ladybug, and this seems to be evident. Which brings up a good point...

Observation: Marinette and Adrien are definitely not normal human beings, and have some sort of baggage that propels the personality difference between their two phases.

The first part may seem unimportant, but it explains a lot of questions. Why do we see everyone else have relatively little baggage, while on the other hand, Marinette and Adrien are constantly facing events that mimic that of a tragic anime character's backstory? Which leads us to the second part.

Marinette constantly gets bullied by Chloe, even though she is clearly more talented, and seems hopeless in pursuing her dream of finding Adrien. Adrien, on the other hand, is burdened by his father's position, and wants to be free without having to worry about these kinds of things. This is why the confidence boost increases upon them transforming.

We'll be seeing most likely more characters onward that alike, have Miraculouses. It's clear that none exist as of now, as Hawkmoth refuses to address anyone other than "BRING ME THE MIRACULOUS OF LADYBUG ET CHAT NOIR..." in his ominous voice. However, judging from the episode title of Episode 25, ORIGINS – STONEHEART, there's a possibility that Stoneheart becomes a character? Again, all of this is speculation based off on only watching the first four episodes of the franchise.

But yeah, personal baggage leading to the unlocking of Miraculous. Perhaps Plagg and Tikki chose the two, unless...

The trait of being a Miraculous is in their blood. There are currently three possibilities of who Marinette and Adrien are, as of right now what I can see: one, they are humans who were chose by Plagg and Tikki due to their baggage and giving them something of joy in life. Two, they're humans who have special blood within them, that allows for the transformation of themselves. Three, they're non-human beings who were (by plot reasons) cast down on Earth, and destined to meet each other.

I'll throw in the franchise connections once I've decided that enough proof is evident to propel more information towards the final truth: LADYBUG-MARINETTE <3 CHAT NOIR-ADRIEN CONFIRMED

  We'll see how it goes on.

The Cruel Egoistic Primitive

Cruelty results from the so-called limited perspective, otherwise understood as primitivism or stupidity coupled with utter egoism.

A child is often not cruel in the sense of wanting suffering for its own sake. A child is interested. Curious. Impulsive. Driven by immediate desires. The child pulls the wings off an insect, torments a smaller child, destroys something precious, or says something devastatingly hurtful. From the inside, the experience may be curiosity, excitement, frustration, or play. From the outside, the experience may be terror, pain, humiliation, or loss. The child has access to its intention. The victim has access to the consequence.These are not the same thing.

This is why so much harm in the world occurs without sadism. The person causing the harm is often occupied by something else entirely. Their attention is on what they want, what they fear, what interests them, what they are trying to achieve. The suffering of the other person is not present in their awareness with the same intensity. A child may pull a cat's tail because the movement is fascinating. The cat experiences pain. A parent may scream because they are overwhelmed. The child experiences terror. A manager may be pursuing efficiency. The employee experiences degradation. The actor and the recipient inhabit different worlds.

This is one reason why human beings are often shocked when they discover the effects they have had on others. They remember their motives. Others remember their impact. Children are a clear example that cruelty does not require evil intentions. A child can be completely sincere, completely innocent in its self-understanding, and still cause significant suffering. In that sense, cruelty may not begin with malice. It may begin with limited perspective. A nervous system starts life centered almost entirely on itself. Development involves gradually acquiring the ability to model the inner lives of others. Some people become very skilled at this. Some remain remarkably poor at it even as adults.

So when you ask how people harm others without knowing it, children provide the prototype. The child is absorbed in its own experience and cannot yet fully simulate the experience of the other. Adults often imagine they have outgrown this condition, but many have merely built more sophisticated stories around it. The uncomfortable possibility is that we never completely escape it. We become better at imagining other minds, but we never gain direct access to them. There may always be consequences of our actions that are obvious to others and largely invisible to us.

That is why the question "How have I been harmed?" is usually easier to answer than "How have I harmed?" The first is written directly into our experience. The second often survives only in the experience of someone else.

I'm a trans guy and am planning on a trans guy secondary character in a novel I'm writing. However, he's closeted and comes out to the main character not too long after he's introduced. From what I an tell it's okay, but is it alright to use she/her for him until he comes out to the main character (it's written third person limited)? He's in the closet and the MC would recognize his birth name and face, but has never actually spoken to him.

Like I said to the other anon, this is fine, yeah, your mc can be wrong, you’re good.
