I truly believe in the saying “time is money.” I think the amount of focus we put on convenience and instant-gratification in our society is directly connected to how much waste we produce... if we all just slowed down, lived more purposefully and consciously, and spent our time constructively. We could improve some of our bad habits while also saving ourselves money. For example, food waste... The average American household throws away $2,200 of food each year. 20% of food that the average American buys is never eaten. Americans throw away approximately $165 billion of food each year. (facts via @theswagusa) So, I challenge you all to take a little TIME to simply go through your pantry and/or fridge. Take inventory of what you have already - consolidate, label, organize, (compost/clean/reuse/recycle the things that may actually have expired - to clear space for the still edible and useful), and start planning some new and exciting meals with the food you already have! It will feel sooo rewarding and inspiring, I can guarantee it. New Year post coming late but 2020 started off bad or should I say rough with some crazy challenges coupled with loss of a friend at such a young age but I am continuously reminded that God is still faithful and always will be. I had set my mind of going into the New Year thanking God for family and friends; health and wealth; the courage to go after my dreams and much more and that Mindset ain't going to change. I realized that I posted the same exact picture of myself recently 😝🤦🏻‍♀️ and I do like that picture- but I definitely have more from that photo shoot! I was going through some photo albums for head shots for an up-coming collaboration. I’ve dropped some hints- but I’ll officially announce it when the official infographics start coming out!! 🫣🤩 I feel beyond blessed for this life that I’ve been building 💖 I really feel like I’ve figured it out. I’ve figured out my purpose(s), what I want out of this life, and how to get it. I love having a fun career that excites me, challenges me, and is able to support the life that I desire. The climb isn’t over- but I can finally slow down and enjoy the view. And that’s the most beautiful thing that I have ever built. Without getting too personal-there was a point in time where I thought I was done being a Chef and I would never have this. I just had to put my vision into focus-and start taking the steps to get there. Once you start to enjoy the journey, it’s easy to look track and surprise yourself with how far you’ve come!
