Understand "basses" as instruments designed to capture the lowest wave frequencies in a melody.

The ancestor of basses, I mean, its root is relatively recent; The Roman theorbo is the most anatomically similar but if we go even further back it could be the throat singing of the ancient Mongols 🧐.

Water, just like basses, share the function of being 🌀power prisms🌀

Just as water can divide the spectrum of sunlight into a rainbow, basses can also divide or channel our attention throughout a melody. That's why many say they can't hear it! 🌈🌈🌈

Bassists, mostly low-profile, understand this task perfectly.

They are very compatible with drummers because when they feel lost, one can guide the other, just like those who experience the earth-water affinity (Taurus and Pisces, for example) 🥁🌿💘🌊🎸.
