Volga?

As a note, I only have experience with Volga via HW, so this is him from that game, I have no clue about OoT Volga

grouchy old man that just wanted Cia to get off his lawn (that's kinda cannon but wtvr)

perfers solitude, hence why he likes in a giant cave system, and white he technically does have a lizard army at his disposal, they're mostly just there to keep pesky adventurers and hylians out of his space

gives "grouchy old man who wants to be left alone" vibes

once he was freed from Cia's control though I can see him agreeing to work with the hylians in order to get back at the dark forces that controlled him (AKA Ganon) (I'm a bit fuzzy as to what happens in canon after Cia's defeat, I haven't progressed that far in game because my Ganon wasn't getting leveled up like at all before and you have to use him to get further in the story)

he's got a begrudging respect for the links that he's met, as well as Impa ad Zelda/Sheik; they're all great fighters, honorable in their conduct (for the most part) and loyal to one another and their cause, all very admirable things to be

I really really like the idea that he and Link (Warriors) end up sort of with a mutually hostile but respectful dynamic. like, Wars' is a bit of a shit towards him, but when push comes to shove, he'd die for any of his allies, and that does include Volga, and when the dragon knight realizes that, Warriors gains a great deal more respect in his eyes

isn't sure what to think about Mask, because there's something about how the kid looks at him, like he knows him, and he could swear, maybe, somewhere in the back of his mind, he remembers someone similar, years and years and years ago, when he himself was very small, but there's just no way there's any connection there

for some reason I just really like the idea of him sitting in one of his caves and just drinking tea by himself, being kinda just chill when there's no one around

he likely finds most of the warriors in the Hylian army to be extremely annoying, so the Links are the least annoying to him in contrast

Darunia in particular irritates him; he doesn't like the gorons very much because they're always knocking down his walls and eating his stuff, like, could you not see that was a very carefully arranged rock pile? Now the balance of the whole cavern is thrown off! Do you know how long it took to layout his lava/rock garden? you stupid dirt clods, who gave you teeth?

out of all the enemy forces Ghirahim annoys him the most because, well, at least the rest know how to shut up! that one never stops talking!

hc that the only thing wild is good at remembering is dates. He may not know your name, but he knows your birthday.

wild hands four a monster cake one fine wednesday morning and he's like '???' and wild smiles and signs 'it's vio's birthday' four then proceeds to cry for an hour and a half straight.

Some headcanons on the Twili:

- The Twili have a parliament, with a Monarch at the head(Usually a Queen, the Twili were a primarily matriarchal society), and a Council to guide the Monarch. 

- The Twili are the descendants of the “dark interlopers” an ancient tribe of criminals and traitors to the world and its goddesses. These interlopers were lead by sheikah defectors(including the Garo, among others) and gerudo, but also had other races in their ranks. The Twili Royal Family began with a Gerudo King and a Shiekah matriarch. 

- The Interloper War happened during the Era of Chaos, between Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time, presumably before the Temple of Time was created to seal away the Sacred Realm.

- The Twili grew into a peaceful society, despite the ancestral members being greedy and power-hungry. Their views on the Light and the goddesses were more based around fear. All Twili feared the Light, and knew that they were looked down upon by those who dwelled in the realm of Light, but accepted it, and understood that this was punishment for their ancestors doing.

- The Twili wear masks often in every day life, as a form of self-expression and identity, as well as for recreational purposes. This has been passed down from their first ancestors, the dark interlopers, and their culture. The Fused Shadow was a mask that was created as a tool to help claim the triforce and establish dominion over the land of Hyrule.

Link and Linkle headcanons:

- in universes where they both exist, their relationship varies. Sometimes they're siblings, sometimes they're strangers, and sometimes they meet and become friends. Sometimes they're both the hero? that's got to be interesting.

- Link is genderfluid and Linkle is nonbinary trans fem! sometimes they share clothes :3 but Linkle is generally shorter than Link so their clothes don't fit each other very well.

- they do NOT always get along. What qualities they do have in common they often find annoying in each other. They bicker over silly stuff. Zelda gets irritated and yells at them to stop.

- on the other hand, they're pretty good at comforting each other. Linkle has a sense for when Link is bottling stuff up - she can tell between Normal Quiet and Upset Quiet. And Link can tell when Linkle's bubbly cheer is covering for a bad mood. And then they help each other work through it.

Ngl. This took me a while because I sat back and thought, and realized that I don’t have any

At least not ones I’ve consciously thought about before. So it took some time playing botw, readings fics, and just thinking to come up with these. But here ya go, some hcs for botw link. (Some of these were shared with me by @nordictwin)

Pre-Calamity:

Is selectively mute from all the pressure and expectations placed on him. How everyone treated him (like Zelda who was cruel to him, blinded by her own hurt and ignorance) became so overwhelming that it made him go mute and it’s very rare that he’s comfortable and feels safe enough to talk out loud. His voice is soft and hoarse from getting so little use.

Learned sign language to compensate for his lack of a voice. Wasn’t very hard for him to learn because soldiers have hand signals for battles when needed so it wasn’t that difficult to pick up sign language or the regional/race variations

Cannot cook. They found this out the hard way when he was put on kitchen duty for his turn. A dozen soldiers got food poisoning. He’s never allowed on the duty again.

He can cook a few simple basic things and make them relatively edible. So he wasn’t hopeless. But big meals or anything elaborate is out of the question

Post-Awakening from the shrine:

He hates baths. He will forever deny that he needs a bath at any time, but he does. He just doesn't like the experience of a bath. Also, his hair goes maximum floof when it's been washed and dried

However, he likes being clean.

He is an amazing cook after waking up. He learns from different ppl as he travels and then invents and experiments on his own. He’s a master especially at slow cooked meals.

Because of his memory loss, he doesn’t recall the pressures and negative things he experienced before the calamity. So he’s very talkative and expressive. He’s also just more happy and carefree in general.

Is amazing with children. Just loves to play with them and indulge them. Tells stories and brings items from far away to show them

Is just genuinely helpful and heroic. He can’t walk past someone in need of help or who has a request. (He’s learned tho, how to tell ppl trying to use him or do him harm from ppl who are genuine. Luckily it’s rare and usually only yiga clan members that are out to harm him)

hc that sky and twilight are the only people that know wild can talk. everyone but four thinks he's actually mute and four has deduced he's a selective mute.

sky knows bc he's the only one of them wild has ever trusted enough to actually talk to and twilight knows because he's wolfie and, back when wild didn't know he was wolfie, he would talk to him (dogs can't understand hsl)

So.....about those eldritch headcanons, because you've got me 👀👀👀....any around Twilight?

I definitely have a handful for Twilight! (Me and @nordictwin love to have eldritch links because they’ve been through a lot on their journeys and you can’t convince me that they haven’t been changed and altered just a little)

So here you go! (From me and Nordic) Eldritch!Twilight hcs:

Shadows lean towards him as if gently being pulled by a magnet. The affect of his dark twili half calls to shadows. If he had training, he could utilize them to an extent

King of the Beasts: animals like Twilight, that much has always been true. But after his adventure, that is taken to a whole new level. To animals Twilight isn't just a nice person, he is King. It doesn't matter which Hyrule they're in, animals flock to Twilight, and though nothing can be proven most would say they're almost deferential towards him. Even Sky's loftwing, which is a little unsettling to the man, bows his head and accepts any touches from the King of Beasts, not to mention Legend himself and Four both feel a bone-deep respect for him. And if it's obvious when he's a man, it is even more so when he's in his wolf-form. None of the Chain knows of this, but Twilight sometimes holds Court with various wild animals when he's a wolf, and if he's always highly respectful towards any animals they hunt, well... the animals may accept the food-chain with him at the top, but his heart always aches for killing his subjects. He'd go vegetarian if he could, but unfortunately it's out of the question, and either way the beasts understand their way of life.

In time, Twilight will be able to turn into any beast he desires. Had he had more guidance and time during his adventure, he might've learned how sooner, but that is neither here nor there.

hc that wild is a heavy sleeper. you could stasis a launch a boulder into his face and he wouldn't wake up. smelling salts wouldn't wake that mf up.

whenever the chain jokes about it he goes 'haha one time i slept for 100 years' and they're all like 'hahaa lmao ur so funny' and then they figure out he actually did sleep for 100yrs and they're like 'wait a damn minute'
