Fable

My girl!

clean freak, this girl is very fastidious about her space, it might be a trauma response (dungeons, sewers, that sort of thing), but she gets somewhat agitated if her space isn't clean

^ related, she loves scented candles, both for the light and the fact that she can block out other smells if she so pleases. Legend 100% makes her a lot of beeswax candles every year, all with different scents, and she has them scattered in every room of the castle so light whenever she wants

while she was taught how to defend herself physically, I see Fable as being more magic reliant than physically, she'd rather pin you down with a spell than hae to use her hands fro it, and it allows her to maintain a distance between shelf and her foes

much like a lot of people HC for Hyrule, I think she really, really hates the sight of her own blood. Blood in general isn't an issue, but hers was used to open gates to the dark world and unseal Ganon, and I think a small part of her never lets go of the fact that her blood is essentially a key to the gates of Hell

she enjoys riding, but especially if Legend rides with her, it's freeing to just cut her world down to herself, her hero, and their horses as they race across Hyrule Field at breakneck paces and try and one up each other with tricks

because she's magically inclined, I see her as having mastered the Sheik disguise pretty good, she gets a kick out of it too, because she's taller and buffer than Legend that way and it always irritates him a little bit

I feel like she likes spoiling the people she's close to, but because that's a very short list, it mostly means that she pesters Legend and Impa a LOT with questions on if they want anything or little gifts that they don't really need

she enjoys wood-carving, something about shaping something with a knife, rather than destroying it, but also balancing on that thin line between crafting perfection and destroying it. She has a small collection of carved wooden animals as a result, and probably a handmade chess set as well

she's really good at strategy games, and Ravio and she enjoy playing chess with each other. Legend doesn't play because he sucks at it, but he likes watching them go up against each other

because I have Leged and Ravio's favorite drinks as a thing, I feel the need to specify that Fable is a coffee girl, but black coffee specifically, and lots of it

she doesn't tend to sleep very well, maybe it's insomnia, maybe it's the mental link between her and Legend, but she rarely sleeps the night through, usually waking up around midnight for an hour or two, working on something, and then falling asleep again a few hours later

she likes to check in on Legend somewhat frequently. maybe it's some sort of separation anxiety, but she's gotten in the habit of tapping into their mental link at least once a day just to make sure he's okay and maybe chat a bit, this usually happens at night, because neither sleeps enough and both are less busy at that time

she's a quieter person by nature, very introspective, but she likes to listen to other people, be that Impa with her thousands of stories and anecdotes, Legend with his research on something or other magical, or Ravio about the village gossip, but Fable 100% has gone literal days without speaking a word

between the two of them, Fable's the more jaded towards the heavens; Legend is actual friends with most of the gods/goddesses, but Fable mostly just knows them as the forces that take him away from her and send him back injured and traumatized when they're done using him. she never visits the temples or sacred places anymore, and if she does talk to Hylia, it's more in the sense of a resentful teenager addressing a parent

she knows how to make lace, not that she gets to very often and she generally doesn't like wearing it herself (nor do Legend or Ravio) but she does know how. Usually this results in her just making a bunch of very intricate doilies for Orchard House (which are much appreciated by all)

She enjoys having Legend over and just sitting in an out of sight place stop the walls to watch the soldiers train and make snippy comments about them. Just gets a real kick out of being catty with him about random stuff

she really, really likes fur. Not for any special reason, but she does wear it

her perfume smells like vanilla and brandy, because I like that smell and I think it suits her in a light and dark at the same time sort of way

she actually perfers higher collars on her clothes, rather than low ones

it's not uncommon for her to disappear just to have been exploring the hidden passages of the castle somewhere. She didn't know they existed until ALTTP, but ow she's determined to find all of them and figure out where they go, she has a mini-map she hides in her desk of all the different hidden passages and stairways and tunnels, and likes setting goals to see how many parts of the castle she can sneak between without once using the normal routes

she uses her mental link with Legend to cheat at her studies/duties, often just asking him for answers instead of trying to find them in a book somewhere

like with her rooms, she tends to be very particular about her clothes and appearance, so she's basically always put together and gloriously so

she used to really, really enjoy eating rabbit when she was a kid, but now doesn't for Legend's sake, but man does she miss it sometimes!

actually really enjoys hunting, especially on horseback

is a dog person, but doesn't have any of her own because she knows Legend's scared of them

is considering getting a bird, mostly just because she finds Sheerow funny and thinks it would be fun to have a feathery menace of her own that she could sick on people who annoy her

Wind - I feel like he'd fake a traditional pirate accent but soon drop it . I don't think he'd have much of an accent

Wild - I genuinely don't know what kind of accent I'd give him I just know not British or French

Warriors - SILESIAN FOR THE WIN!!!!! Weathered Example of the accent

Time - I feel like he'd have a bit of a Kokiri accent but I'm not sure what that'd be. He also has the slightest southern from Malon

Twilight - Southernnnnnn

Sky - I've always pictured a Midwestern accent on him I'm not sure why

Four - Not much discernable accent, but I have sometimes pictured him with a slight German one

Legend - A twinge of Scottish

what is the snowling hierarchy? why don't we have one?

Wild. It comes from his Hyrule, okay? Also, the advantage of stasis. He either gets a spare or a strike but he's walking away with 600+ points at the end of the match.

Twilight. This man is so painfully good at both Snowling and Boom Bang Golf (which Wild SUCKS at, actually) and Pondo is GREEN with envy.

Time. He needs to be good at something and he might not be able to cook or sing or read but he can calculate angles so???? that had to be worth something????

Warriors. Not only not is he mediocre good at it but he brags everytime he gets a strike or spare. We love him but he has sore winner written all over him.

Legend. He will play dejectedly, only put half his effort in, and somehow end up with one or two pins standing. How is he so good without even trying?

Wind. He will hit the pins on the first throw, get five or six, and everyone's chanting "YOU CAN DO THIS WIND! GET A SPARE! WE BELIEVE IN YOU!" and then the second throw IS A FUCKING GUTTER BALL.

Hyrule and Four are both here for the same reason. They'll use stasis, a might elixir, CHEAT, and it will ONLY. ROLL. INTO. THE. GUTTER. They've shared collective rage over it.

Sky. He will be distracted and miss his turn because he's too focused on trying to figure out what the fuck snow is and why it's wet and solid???? Ice??? From the sky?????

Bonus: Malon, she's unpredictable. Sometimes she sends it straight down the middle in a perfect strike. Sometimes it's a gutter ball. And then there's the Wii Sports occurance. It flies backwards and hits Time square in face.

"I beg your pardon?" They turned to the villager with a confused and surprised expression. "Would you repeat that?"

"We just want to help you. That little monster probably forced you into this marriage. Did he blackmail you? Threaten someone you care about? We can help you."

Four froze in the doorway, a sharp pain entering his heart. They really thought that about him...? He could feel Blue's fury, Green's disbelief, Red's hurt, and Vio's horror, all four emotions amplifying his own. He covered his mouth to muffle the pained whine that threatened to escape.

Even after all this time they still hated him... they still saw him as nothing more than a monster.

And his spouse...

He froze as he heard a shark slapping sound, managing to focus back on the two. Their spouse's hand was still raised from slapping the villager, he couldn't see their face, but he could hear the cold fury in their tone.

"Listen to me very carefully, because I won't repeat myself again. I love Link. He loves me. He has never blackmailed me, never threatened me, never harmed me in any way, shape or form. He never forced me into this. I married him because I love him. He's wonderful, sweet, kind, gentle, protective... so many things make him amazing and you and the rest of those villagers are blind!"

"He saved you all so many times and he never asked for anything in return! Yet all of you treat him like a beast because he's a little different now? You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Never come back here until you're ready to admit you're wrong and apologize!" They watched the villager scramble off with their tail between their legs before taking a deep breath to calm themselves and turn around. They blinked, surprised to see Four.

"Four-"

He broke, running to them and wrapping his arms around them tightly, burying his face against them. They hugged their husband back just as tight, running their fingers through his hair. "I love you, Link... I'm proud to be your spouse." He shuddered at their words, unable to fight the tears starting to roll down his cheeks, but nothing was going to wipe the smile off his face.

"I love you too... thank you..."

I saw an opportunity and took it. Also minor HC that any Link's partner refers to them with their nickname from time to time, but 'Link' is always used during serious or soft or emotional moments.

And omg same. I hc that his spouse learned of the colors and when they’re together, they can him Four, just like each color has a name when separated. Link is his/their name but it’s special and seems more intimate to say it. So four had his name before meeting the other links and that’s why he offers it so easily before sky can even try to ask fi about it

black coffee drinker all the way, but it is the thickest, darkest coffee you can image ad he's slurping that stuff like he needs it to survive (at this point he might)

he plays up the city boy thing because that's what people expect from the hero, that's what they want, but he's actually from like, this tiny village in Hebra, and sometimes he just really, really gets homesick for stuff from there

^the most Hylia awful food taste in the world, he will eat literally anything if he knows it's not poisoned (grew up poor), but he also genuinely likes some of that stuff. He once told Twilight he was craving haggis enough that he'd kill for some and then had to explain to the rancher that, yes, he is genuinely and actually craving the stomach and guts of a sheep right now- don't judge wolf-boy I know you've eaten meat raw!

he's got a really beautiful singing voice, really deep and rich, but generally does't sing unless it's for his little sisters or other children

girl dad except they're actually his six little sisters

^girl dad but it's also just his his mini army of fairies that he reduced and now dotes on like they're all his precious little daughters

is literally irresistible to fairies at this point, and at a genuine risk if left too long in the presence of a great fairy because they may bottle him up to keep forever

genuinely is the kind of person who enjoys taking care of and doting on others, and hyping them up, but he's aware that that doesn't really fly with heroes and soldiers, so he saves it for the girls in his life

genuinely at his happiest when he's surrounded by the people he cares about and can see them happy and enjoying themselves together

very tactile with others, but does not like it when people touch him first. It's a thing. He will initiate with most people and doesn't mind reciprocation, but does not like is someone else initiates (although he's unlikely to say so or stop them)

eldest child syndrome: he has no clue how to exist without someone around to take care of

dog person, he 100% has a dog at his home/in his quarters, likely an old sheepdog because it just makes sense to me, and that pooch is spoiled rotten

^he had to try so hard not to treat Wolfie like his dog at home but now that he knows it was Twilight he is so thankful for his self control

has always been a bit of a brawler and is genuinely good at hand to hand, although he fights dirty, he likes sparring with the rest, but especially Legend and Twilight; Twilight because he's got that brute strength and wrestling experience, and Legend because the vet is a genuinely good boxer, and while smaller than him, is faster and very good at using his size to his advantage, so it's a nice challenge for him

he gets a little silly if he's been up too long; he's a morning person by nature, but as the day drags on, and it gets later and later, he's more open to nonsense and utterly off the hook craziness because his rational thinking tends to fall asleep mid conversation and leave him open to the natural Link Insanity

he really, really likes poetry, but not the fancy stuff that Artemis reads, he likes the stuff from back home in Hebra

^ he was actually illiterate before the war started, and had to learn really quickly how to read and write. Reading and poetry are his way to practice these skills more, outside of his military reports that is

has the thickest darn accent known to man, but somehow masks it perfectly; his control slips though if he's drunk, tired or very emotional

based off of the functions in game, I think Warrios has a sort of a sixth sense for where people are. It's likely a magical ability, akin to Wild's flurry attack, but he genuinely can sense where everything/everyone is at any given time as long as they fall into a certain radius of himself. That radius does change depending on his familiarity with his surroundings though

he's very protective of anyone he considers family, not to the same extend as Hyrule (who's downright possessive about it at times), but enough so that he will blame himself for not being there to help them if something happens to them.

generally tries his hardest to maintain an air of dignity and grace around the other heroes, since, y'know, he's representing the army, his time, and trying to appear as the perfect hero (since that is what his era wants from him), but sadly falls prey to Legend's sharp tongue more then he cares to admit, ad it's probably because Legend reminds him a lot of Linkle, and it's just that sibling mentality overriding his hero training

generally uses a sword in battle, but actually does perfect the fire rod. The sword is part of the hero role, but fire feels more natural to him and he really lets loose when that's what he's using (gets just slightly feral with it, because he can)

is under the impression that he is entirely unmagical, but has an exceptional amount of untapped magical potential that he just was never taught how to use.

he's a lover of tradition and customs, and I see him as being the person in his family and/or social group to prompt others to partake in them

I've used this in my fics before, but he's a man fond of folk-takes, but especially of sharing them with others at relevant times,particularly with his younger sisters, or his new little brothers

generally a more easy going type in general, but I see him as being able to switch into laser focus "captain mode" at the drop of the hat

he learned via exposure and observation how to tend wounds and deal with most medical issues, be that illness or injury

(also frequently included in my fics) Warriors' has a faint tremor in his hands. it's not so bad as to stop him doing most tasks, but it does get aggravated when he's not feeling well, although when he's particularly tensed or strained, it essentially disappears

^because of this, despite coming from a family of tailors, he can't sew a stitch for the life of him

He's pretty cagey about gifts or things from people he doesn't know and distrustful in general of strangers, food he hasn't seen prepared, gifts, or other such things, but he's very good at hiding that

has a very strong fear of doctors (also something I wrote a few fics on), and perfers to treat his own wounds himself or those of his loved ones. There is one nurse at the castle though who he's known since they were kids, and he will tolerate her help if he's unable to do something (yes, that's Miss Holly from my Wars Whump fics!)

I feel like, second to Time and Twilight, he was the one who enjoyed being at Lon Lon the most, I feel like he'd like nothing more than a quiet life with his loved ones, removed from the eyes of the city, and Lon Lon was a taste of what that would be like

before he was a soldier, he was pick-pocket This is a firmly guarded secret, but sometimes he still filches things from the others' bags (Wild's gerudo veil for one) just to satisfy the impulse to steal their shit. He gives it back though, usually just as quickly as he took it, and often without them knowing

he is the man of his house and it is SO weird to him that he's the baby among the chain, like, he's never been the youngest before, not even on Tetra's ship, so it is weird weird for him

^ because of this, he does find himself "big-brothering" some of the other young Links. Not intentionally, or even in big ways, just scolds them if they don't eat all their food or if they get hurt doing stupid stuff, and usually it catches them so off guard that they forget to tell him to stop

he picked up some medical knowledge from Warriors and the soldiers during the War of Eras, so while he's definitely not a skilled medic, he is pretty confident in his ability to tend minor injuries (just not anything with setting bones or stitching people up)

cannot sew for the life of him; he tries, but he always pulls too hard on the thread and breaks it/ gathers the fabric too much

he finds Epona charming, but refuses to ride on her; he can't shake the feeling that he'll slip out of the saddle somehow and get his skull kicked in on accident

designated Map Guy(TM); most of the chain (minus Legend) is more likely to hand over any new maps to him first and foremost, (Legend is willing to share, but doesn't cede to others well and also knows maps pretty well, so...)

he and Wild have a secret photo-taking club where they set challenges on a regular for different kinds of photos and the have to compare to see who got the best one for the "assignment"

one of the few links who actually knows how to braid hair (Warriors and Twilight are the other two)

I kinda want him to be dyslexic? I don't know why, he's just got a vibe

genuinely prefers use of him hammer over the sword; he's good with both, but he likes the brute force and general heft of the hammer, especially because it lets him put more distance between his for and himself

very tactile, Granny and Aryll aren't touch shy in the least and he grew up in a home where physical contact was more common than it wasn't, so he has no shame in being all over the rest, everything from flopping on top of them (regardless of how they're posed themselves) to just...like...adjusting clothes or hair. He has 100% just started idly braiding Wild's hair without asking before (Wild doesn't mind) or just grabbing one of Legend's hands to fiddle with his fingers and rings, or tracing the scars on Sky's left arm when he's bored

he does swear, but not a lot. He doesn't want to get too much into the habit because when he goes back home to Aryl, he 100% censors himself, and it's harder to do that if you swear frequently

really really enjoys music, and he's great at orchestrating pieces, but not the best at actually playing it himself; he knows how the sounds should go together, but the actual making of them is a very fiddly sort of thing and he struggles to get it precisely right each time

he handles changes in weather better than basically anyone else, because island life is a pattern of extremes (hot in the day and freezing at night, very wet most of the time, ect. ect.)

he isn't actually too strong of a swimmer, because Granny was always worried about the water being unsafe (poisoned) so while she made sure he and Ayrll both knew how to swim, prior to Ganon's defeat, they didn't really do it very often

he likes trying to draw the things that he sees in his travels. He's got his picto-box, of course, but he and Aryll tend to draw things together so he keeps doing it alone now so he feels closer to her (and so he can improve his skills because he's competitive and Aryll is unfairly talented)

his voice is breaking all the dang time and it squeaks so high that it'll make Wolfie whine

Ravio HCs

during the war of eras, he never took off his hood, for two reasons: 1.) he liked the sense of anonymity/mystery that it gave him and 2.) he didn't know the exact reason that Cia was after Warriors, but he heard the rumors that she thought he was hot as a hero, ad Ravio didn't want to take the chance of being mistaken for Legend, who is also pretty and a hero

he utterly adores savory and spicy foods

has 100% considered wearing drag to get into Gerudo town just so he can attend the bazaars and eat the food he doesn't care about seeing the town itself so much, just getting them sweet sweet deals and snacks

he always runs a bit cold, hence all the heavy clothes. His hands especially are pretty cool to the touch, so he tends to warm them either in his sleeves or with a warm cuppa

Ravio is a cat person, but sadly, Sheerow is not, so he can't ever have one (he dutifully gives pets to all the village cats in Kakariko though)

he actually makes a lot of his own wares. Just like Legend apprenticed as a smithy, Ravio apprenticed for a short while as a craftsman of some kind, and that's how he learned how to make weapons, to which he adds magic because that makes them worth more

bunny boy is a hummer, but his singing voice is very pitchy and tends to be off key most of the time. When he's really trying though, he's got a lovely soft, husky sort of singing voice that croons like nobody's business, he does abuse this to get people to go to sleep, be those people Legend, Hilda, or his allies during the war

he's really good at embroidery, but can't sew for crap. Legend has to do his mending for him, because otherwise it ends up an atrocious mess
