Lucias - King's Raid
The Malfoys lingering in the corner of the great hall, looking uncertain if they are welcomed, at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is POETIC. Throughout the book you can see Draco Malfoy's internal conflict between doing what is right and what is wrong - what alligns with his family and what alligns with hogwarts. You can see that family is extremely important to the Malfoy's countless times throughout the series [Draco even introduces him and his friends with their surnames - even addresses Ron by his - yes there's an element of family pride and name etc but it's also something he DEFINES himself and others by. Maybe because it's so important to him] , and EVENTUALLY Draco's parents choose the side of Hogwarts because they realise, THAT IS WHERE THEY ARE TRULY SAFE AND ALLOWED TO BE A FAMILY. no matter the rivalry between the houses, no matter the history, slytherin house - with what the Malfoy's values allign with a lot - is still seen as an important part of hogwarts, and a part that will be protected NO MATTER WHAT.
Urgh it is so beautiful, sad but beautiful. I only wish Harry had said something more about it, but maybe the fact that he didn't says it all
I noticed a thing.
