I’m watching Bring up Bates for the first time and oh lord Mama Jane seems so rude and unwelcoming.

Mama Jane’s no nonsense approach surprised me at first too. Realistically though, what could have prepared her to play host to 19 grandchildren, their respective families, and other extended families descending upon her home over the holidays. That is some grade A stress at any age. -Suz
