Mango Cheesecake
Here is an ode to one of my favorite desserts - the cheesecake and now enhanced with the flavor of mango! It is a match made in heaven to be served on your plate. Make a regular cheesecake and serve with mango sauce or bake the mango flavor into the cheesecake - either way you can’t go wrong!

After dining out at Fu Lee Seafood (富俐海鮮), a tze char (煮炒) stall located in Block 126 Canberra Street, sis help packed for us the Mango Crispy Chicken (芒果脆鸡) and Yang Zhou Fried Rice (扬州炒饭). Love the extra crispy fried chicken cutlet with tangy sweet and spicy mango sauce. Even the fried rice is so good with flavour of the Wok Hei (镬气), translated into English means “wok thermal radiation” or metaphorically, the “breath of the wok”.

Been wanting to bring mum to Mei Heong Yuen Dessert (味香园甜品) located on the second floor of Northpoint City but the little corner is forever packed with customers. Finally found a table today but darn, the staff making shaved ice is out for lunch. So we settled for the Water Chestnut Cakes 🌰 (马蹄糕) costing S$3.50 a plate. The translucent dessert had slices of crisp water chestnut suspended inside the steamed kueh (cake). If you like something light, this is for you but I found it a little plain tasting for my palate.
The Mango Roll 🥭 (芒果卷) featured rice flour sheet wrapping around a tangy sweet piece of fresh mango. It is accompanied with a refreshing drizzle of sweet mango sauce which served to boost the mango flavour profile. This is S$4 well spent for a late afternoon treat.
Pizza Hut Singapore put out the new Christmas Knotty Cheesy Chipotle Ranch pizza for Christmas. Since the restaurant is dangling a 50% off promotion, I got the regular pizza (S$36.90 before discount) for half the price. The naughty knotty crust came loaded with mozzarella cheese topped with cheesy cornflakes, finished with tender turkey ham, BBQ garlic chicken chunks with juicy onions, cherry tomatoes and drizzled with a tangy Chipotle Ranch sauce. I love the tangy ranch sauce over the meaty chicken with mozzarella stuffed between the crusts.
Did not see this new item listed on their delivery menu but it is there in the dine-in menu. Ordered a regular size Tropical Dream (S$29 before discount) pizza with chunky honey chicken ham, roasted pineapples with roasted onions, cream cheese and a drizzle of mango puree. I selected the San Francisco Style Sourdough crust out of the available three. It is light and airy but also much thinner at the base than the normal crust type. The mango sauce gave this pizza a burst of tangy sweet flavour over the savoury ham and milky cream cheese. Overall, mum said she enjoyed the fruity sweetness of this pizza.
