Hey, I was wondering if you had any tips for studing maths? And BTW your blog is sooo nice ✨
hey babe! thanks for the compliment 💖💖💖 sorry if this is quite late (my ask box didn’t tell me about it??? tumblr wyd) but anyways! here are my tips for studying maths:
practice, practice, practice!: yes, i’m sure you’ve heard it before but rlly the best way to study maths is to do practice questions! you should have a textbook from school, if not then some websites you can use are: khan academy (this one is the one id use personally! it has loads of subjects and is real easy to use) getrevising (great for all subjects, esp if you are doing gcse/ alevel!) mathedup (so!! many!! questions!!) you should defo mark all your questions and if you don’t get why you got one wrong, then go through it with a friend or a teacher!
go through tricky concepts: if you are really stuck on one particular part of the topic, make a page JUST about how to do those questions! look at mark schemes, examples, and just go through it step by step. by writing it down i often can see where i’m going wrong!
flashcards: what?? flashcards for maths?? you may think its funny, but flashcards can rlly help you with remembering key terms (like truncate - i always get stuck on that one!) write down the word and the meaning, and this can help you understand questions better!
practice papers: practice!!! papers!!! i cannot stress this enough omg practice papers are a GODSEND - you get exam questions similar to the one you’ll see in the test, you get the mark scheme!! (btdubs - the mark scheme can b rlly useful…) and its always good practicing in timed conditions (this is my main way of revising!!!!)
mark schemes: USE. THE. MARK. SCHEME. omg use it!! not just for the right answer but for WHAT the marks are! see where you get method marks, answer marks, benefit of the doubts, everything!! this will help you structure your answers for the examiners to mark more easily, which is good for you cause you’re more likely to pick up marks!! use it!!!!!!
thats it for my studying tips for maths - hope it helps hunny!
Day 1 of productivity (01/01/19)
First day of the year, first day of productivity and it started with maths revision. If you look, I don't find it easy but you got to start somewhere right? Forgot to mention my phone went into meltdown last year so this is also my first post on my new phone! 😁
