Introducing my grandma to UD [1/3]
I have the best grandma ever and she is always ready to listen to me ramble about what I like for hours straight, so I had decided to introduce her into Until Dawn. First, I showed her pictures of characters and asked her to say what she thinks of them. Like, I show her a picture and she says “I think that person is really good with animals and they’re also funny.”. The results, if I recall them right:
Josh: “Oh! He looks like a sadist! I sure wouldn’t trust him!” [She literally just saw his picture for like 3 seconds and went with that, no hesitation whatsoever]
Chris: “This one seems like a scientist to me. Smart and all.”
Mike: “He seems to be a type of guy that tries to be brave but is actually getting scared easily.”
Matt: “He seems like the nicest and kindest of them all.”
Sam: “Oh, I don’t like her. She seems mean and toxic.”
Ashley: “She, she looks like a brave warrior!” [Sure, grandma, sure. I mean, she can stab Josh with scissors, but like, still]
Emily: “I’m pretty sure she leads some mafia.”
Jessica: “Oh, an innocent, trusting little lady. Really sensitive, loving and caring.”
Beth: “I don’t know really. She seems like a really masculine girl.”
Hannah: “I think she’s smart. Kind of fits the scientist guy from before [Chris]. I think they’d like work to discover some mysteries together.”
With some she was completely wrong, with some she was weirdly specific. The one that hit me the most was that she claimed Josh was the bad guy here without even knowing there will be a bad guy here.
