I was listening to S3 mcd, and honestly... why is zane here?
This would work so much better with gene or zenix.
The dynamic between zane and dante would be better as dante and his brother. Would hurt more. Or zenix, could have build a parallel between dante and him in the eyes of aphmau and garroth as once the youngest guards.
Idk just my thoughts.
why were dmitri and nekoette students at the guard academy in s3? they are literally 9/10 years old. they should be in fourth grade not on patrol alone in the woods. i do not care that they have a full set of armor and real weapons, i could easily punt them into tu’la with a weak nudge.
I couldn't think of who this would fit so just did the best I could think of
LO COME HOME DAMMIT. THE KIDS MISS YOU. I MISS YOU. COME HOME.
I miss him so bad. My wife my wife. Ohhh shes gone to war. Shes gone to war with tu'la. Bring back Lo. Im sick of this rhys boy she gave birth to. Lo come back im
bringing zane back for mcd season three isn't an inherently bad idea!! its a great opportunity to explore his motivations and there's a lot of great potential for interesting story line!! it just requires a massive status quo change in order to pull off effectively and that's where canon failed.
zane's biggest threat was his influence and untouchable status, but he can't have that in s3. the end of season two, zane has already lost every juror and every relic. okhasis has been successfully invaded by Tu'la and Ru'aun has been successfully invaded by the phoenix alliance. all of his family/allies are either dead or despise him, and the gods he dedicated his life to very much hate him. zane is the most wanted man in like three regions and he's been gone for nearly two decades.
zane is also an incredibly valuable resource for literally every major plot point in season three. shad wants to break out of the nether? zane knows how to traverse realms without void burn. aphrene wants to know more about her past? zane managed to find her ex's disembodied hearr pretty sure he's a wealth of knowledge on that topic. phoenix alliance wants to stop the war with tu'la? bestie they literally invaded to get to zane's notes.
however, all that involves actually developing zane past a very black and white villian, and jesson didn't want to. exploring zane as a character post-defeat might humanize him, and it would be too confusing if the good guys wanted the bad guy's help (despite setting up the scenario the season prior in episode 81).
jesson wanted to have their zane and villianize it too, so they retconned his entire character. yeah he looks like zane and has a few moments of zane, but he's made it very clear that he only cares about violence, power, and shadow knight lore. he is explicitly against all of the studying amd magicking he claims he never did, and is so far from the main plot he literally lives in a cave for half the season.
I'm a lot of things, but subtle isn't one of them.
There is a shameful amount of zanivus content on this site and I'm here to fix it. You're welcome
